  • CDL Driver

    Excursions
    $28.00 / hour

    Tour Bus Drivers transports cruise guests and non-cruise guests to various locations at Icy Strait Point. The driver will ensure guests are transported to different locations based on the tour and scheduling. 

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: BAP: Best, Authentic, Profitable
    • Provide excellent customer service to all IPS guests
    • Provide guests with general information about ISP
    • Participate in all required trainings
    • Promote other ISP venues, distribute ISP literature and/or sell ISP merchandise
    • Work as greeters to welcome guests and conduct guest orientations
    • Take tickets, and load passengers
    • Assist within programs wherever needed
    • Daily fueling and cleaning of vehicles as assigned
    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    • Adequate knowledge or willingness to learn about Tlingit culture
    • Valid CDL Driver’s license with ‘P’ endorsement and no air brake restriction
    • Current DOT Medical Certificate
    • Must have good customer service skills and the ability to communicate with ISP guests and others in a professional, friendly, and accurate manner. 
    • The Driver must be able to learn, retain and relay general ISP information. 
    • Current First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.

    Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

    • Able to sit for extended periods
    • Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting
    • Able to walk and drive on gravel roads in inclement weather when on site.

    Job Description Overview

    As a Maintenance Technician for employee housing, your job is to ensure that everything in the housing runs smoothly. You'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing everything from plumbing and electrical systems to HVAC and refrigeration units. This is a critical role in the hospitality industry because we want our employees' accommodations to be comfortable and functional.

     

    In this job, you'll need strong mechanical skills and knowledge of building codes and regulations. You'll work closely with the hospitality staff to identify and prioritize maintenance needs, and provide timely and efficient solutions to any issues that arise. You'll also be responsible for keeping detailed maintenance records and maintaining inventory levels for supplies and equipment.

  • Bartender

    Bartenders are in charge of managing drink orders at a restaurant to keep customers satisfied during meals or social gatherings. Bartenders need extensive knowledge of common drinks which they use to recommend drinks to customers, prepare cocktails, pour beers and properly decant wines. Bartenders also entertain customers who sit at the bar by providing stimulating conversation and excellent customer service while filling drink orders for other customers. Their role is to ensure that customers are of legal drinking age and then prepare a requested drink to their specifications.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: BAP: Best, Authentic and Profitable.
    • Perform all duties by providing outstanding service efficiently in an ever-friendly demeanor.
    • Collect and process payment; accurately enter and record all menu items into the PS system. Verify identification and age requirements of customers
    • Mix traditional and creative cocktails
    • Clean glasses and bar utensils
    • Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences
    • Record and balance cash receipts and prepare cash deposits
    • Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift
    • Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere
    • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
    • Able to function well and calmly in times of high-volume activity and stress.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
    • Willingness to shift to other stations and/or assignments as needed.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

    • Work on your feet most of the day with minimal break time (lunch is often “on the fly”).
    • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize under pressure while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor.
    • Effective and friendly communication skills with guests, coworkers, and management.
    • Comply with company dress code.
    • 2 year experience as a bartender in a high volume environment.  
    • Ability to learn quickly.
    • Able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
    • Team-oriented.

    Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

    • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat.
    • Prolonged periods of standing, walking over 5 miles a day.
    • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times.
    • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
    • Willing to live in a remote, rural community 
    • Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting
    • Able to walk and drive on gravel roads in inclement weather

    A Line Cook prepares food using recipes and menu items created by the Head Chef and helps keep the kitchen running smoothly.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: BAP: Best, Authentic and Profitable.
    • Perform all duties by providing outstanding service efficiently in an ever-friendly demeanor.
    • Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
    • Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, and snacks 
    • Plating prepared foods based on senior chef’s guidance
    • Working with servers and cashiers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
    • Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts 
    • Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
    • Willingness to shift to other stations and/or assignments as needed.
    • All other duties as assigned.
