    POSITION SUMMARY

    Early Childhood Teachers are responsible for the education, supervision, and care of children at the Steamboat Child Care Center - a year-round child care center for SSRC employees. Early Childhood Teachers must understand and follow all state rules and regulations and best practices for the children in their care. 

    Preferring candidates that can start by March 15th, 2024.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Provide a safe, healthy, and secure environment with an emphasis on children’s social-emotional, physical, and cognitive needs

    • Perform daily child care duties as assigned including feeding, diapers/potty, and naps

    • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements

    • Register in the PDIS and complete all required trainings including 15 hours of continuing education/year. Provide documentation to Director.

    • Prepare and maintain classroom materials and interest-centers

    • Plan daily lessons, monthly themes, and a classroom monthly calendar

    • Teach large group lessons, small group lessons, and provide individualized instruction

    • Be prepared to engage children in outdoor activities for long periods of time, sometimes in inclement weather

    • Attend all staff meetings and trainings

    • Supervise, mentor, and direct assistant teachers and subs/floaters

    • Work with the Director, early learning specialists, and families to create and implement behavior plans for children with challenging behavior

    • Work cooperatively on a team with other teaching professionals

    • Provide positive guidance and redirection

    • Maintain professional communication with parents and other staff

    • Maintain confidentiality

    • Support children and families with potty training if applicable

    • Maintain all necessary records including attendance records and food program forms

    • Work with a teaching team to write monthly newsletters

    • Complete observations and assessments 3 times a year using TS Gold

    • Use assessments to prepare, plan, and lead parent-teacher conferences in the fall and spring

    • Help plan and lead family nights including back-to-school night

    • Send home sick children

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Other duties, as assigned

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge of child development and willingness to stay up to date with current best practices

    • Must meet the qualifications for an Early Childhood Teacher

    • Must demonstrate an interest in young children and a concern for their proper care and well-being.

    • Flexibility to care for children of all ages birth-5 years

    • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor under stressful situations.

    • Skills and ability to inspire and lead children through a large variety of indoor and outdoor activities

    • Willingness to engage children in outdoor activities for long periods of time, sometimes in inclement weather

    • Ability to maintain professional communication with parents, supervisors, co-teachers, and assistants

    • Ability to work cooperatively with a teaching team to create a safe and cognitively stimulating environment

    • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with children, colleagues, and parents.

    • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, talking, and sitting on the floor

    • Experience in environmental education or nature-based preschools (preschool) or lifeways (I/T) preferred

    • Routine sanitizing and disinfesting of toys and surfaces

    • Ability to adhere to all health and safety policies and program policies and procedures

     

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

     

    An early childhood teacher, assigned responsibility for a single group of children and working under the supervision of a director and must meet at least one of the following qualifications:

    1. A Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major area of study in one of the  following areas:

    • Early childhood education;

    • Elementary education;

    • Special education;

    • Family and child development; or

    • Child psychology.

     

    2. A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major area of study in any area other than those listed above and an additional two (2) three-semester hour early childhood education college courses with one course being either introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies;

     

    3. A current Early Childhood Professional Credential Level II as determined by the PDIS;

     

    4. An Associate’s degree in early childhood education with at least one course being introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies and at least six (6) months of experience;

     

    5. Completion of twelve (12) semester hours in early childhood education. One of the three (3) semester hour courses must be either introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies, plus nine (9) months of verified experience; Completion of a vocational program in child growth and development plus twelve (12) months of verified experience

     

    6. Current certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA)

     

    7. Completion of a course of training approved by the Department that includes training and work experience with children in a child growth and development program plus twelve (12) months of verified experience;

     

    8. Twenty-four (24) months of verified experience plus either:

    • A current Colorado Level II credential; or,

    • Two (2) three-semester hour early childhood education college courses with one course being either introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies.

    * All college course grades toward early childhood teacher qualifications must be “C” or better. All experience must be verified and consist of the care and supervision of four (4) or more children less than six (6) years of age who are not related to the individual.

     

    The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

    Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay range: $22-$26 per hour. This pay is determined by your CO Shines PDIS credential level.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to lift, carry, and position children up to 40 pounds

    • Must be able to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, talking, and sitting on the floor

    • Must successfully complete background & fingerprint check

    • Must be at least 18 years of age

    • Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbal and written.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Guest Safety Coordinator will oversee administering First Aid to guests and assist with the operation of the gondola.  Position requires an EMT or OEC Wilderness First Responder certification. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Administer first-aid to guests.

    • Assist with the operation of the Gondola and other company vehicles.

    • Frequent radio communication with coworkers and occasionally EMS personnel

    • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

    • Assist with building security and assist other departments in set-up and tear down (tables, chairs etc.)

    • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporations’ Service Excellence Standards

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • EMT or OEC wilderness first responder required.

    • Must have a valid driver’s license and will need to meet company’s insurance standards.

    • Previous lift experience preferred.

    • Must interact positively with guests and co-workers.

    • Must handle stressful situations.

    • May work unscheduled hours including days off.

    • Adhere to all safety policies.

    • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp’s Service Excellence standards.

    • Must operate a snowmobile or vehicle when necessary.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The new Steamboat Child Care Center is looking for dedicated and flexible substitute teachers to join our new team! Early Childhood Subs will substitute for Early Childhood Teachers and Assistant Teachers when they are on vacation, sick, or in case of unplanned absences. Early Childhood Subs will support Early Childhood Teachers and Assistant Teachers with the education, supervision, and care of children at the Steamboat Child Care Center.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Support classroom teachers and assistant teachers

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Carpenter position must have at least 1 year in the general building industry with skills including framing, finishing and form, helpful.  Must have a valid driver’s license and provide own set of hand tools.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Under general supervision, performs the full range of carpenter duties in construction and building maintenance

    • Other duties to perform are, rough and finished carpentry work in the repair and construction of buildings, sheds, decks and other items

    POSITION SUMMARY

    We are looking for experienced childcare counselors who want to make the Summer the best one yet! Lead our kids in awesome summer activities like hiking, biking, swimming and so much more. Spend the summer creating incredible memories! Must have 500 formal documented hours working with kids 3-12 years old with valid CPR/First Aid and Red Cross Lifeguard certifications required.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Responsible for guiding a group of children through daily camp activities including sports, arts, teaching outdoor education and teambuilding

    • Responsible for leading activities in all weather, including inclement

    • Responsible for creating programming as needed to keep children active and engaged

    • Care of children range in age from 3 years to 12 years

    • Responsible for all discipline and safety of children throughout the various activities

    • Must be a high energy, fun loving, active individual

    • Must demonstrate an interest in and knowledge of children & concern for their proper care and well being

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Experienced and medically trained Mtn. Bikers wanted!  Bike patrollers needed to monitor the safety of Steamboat Ski & Resort Co., while providing our legendary guest service.  Must have valid/current Outdoor Emergency Care, Wilderness First Responder or EMT; CPR also required.

    Work bikes are NOT provided – you must be able to provide your own mountain bike.

    Pay incentives available for those candidates possessing certification in both the medical and instructional arenas

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Primary duty to patrol, monitor, and maintain all trails and signage within the Mt. Werner network, enforcing ticketing and safety rules

    • Maintain first-aid supply bags, administer first-aid when necessary

    • Document incidents requiring first-aid

    • Communicate effectively with team and operational partners to ensure the highest levels of safety and efficiency

    • Provide information and assistance to the guest when needed

    • Assist with transportation of guests via ATV, van or truck

    • Assist Instructor team with lesson operations, teach lessons if certified to teach and demand requires

    • Attendance at designated meeting times on days scheduled to work

    • Trail maintenance as required on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.  Experience using shovels, saws, hammers, and other common trail work and construction tools preferred.

    • Attend required orientation and training sessions

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous patrol experience, preferred

    • Must be minimum 18 years of age

    POSITION SUMMARY

    We are looking for folks who can mix a drink and enjoy connecting with others! Applicants will be considered for all Food and Beverage locations based on need, skills, and experience as necessary. Location will be determined in interview process.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Responsible for tending bar in a high-volume dining restaurant serving both bar patrons and wait staff; mix, pour and serve drinks to customers and/or wait staff serving tables; keep work area and bar organized and clean at all times

    • Responsible for cash handling and daily sales reconciliation. Perform cashier duties; set up cash drawer; take payment and return correct change; cash out at the end of the evening. Ensure that your bank is correct. Print out guest checks as needed for payment, close out and receive payments from guests to expedite service

    • Must be a team player by assisting in daily operations of serving, cleaning, bussing, and answering phones which is dictated by business volume. Greet and seat customers, as required

    • Open bar facilities. Stock and set up bar for service. Perform shift opening tasks that may include: setting tables, opening doors, set up service station, make sure all menus are stocked for all shifts, etc. As required

    • Maintain good customer relations; interact with customers in a pleasant but professional manner. Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow proper etiquette guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient manner

    Steamboat is looking for cooks of all skill levels to join the growing culinary team. From entry level Cook 1 to Cook 4 for those who have multiple years of experience.     • Assist Sous Chef and Chef with securing/storing food deliveries with knowledge of food hierarchy placement.

    • Assist in the final preparation of dishes

    • Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature
