Wahweap is located in northern Arizona area on the Utah state border. It is home to Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas, which is open year-round.  At LPRM, you will find the largest marina on the lake, as well as boat rental operations. Marina services are available for visitors’ personal boats. In addition to the boat operations, Wahweap has a 350-guest room lodge, campground, several restaurants and gift shops, and offers boat tours on the Lake. 

The Lodge Director of Operations is directly responsible for the success of all Southlake Lodging and Retail.  Oversee day to day operations of the Rooms Division, Retail Shop and Campground operations. A hands-on, high energy, entrepreneurial approach is necessary to perform effectively in our remote community environment. The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services; effective maximization of the guests’ experience and ability to build a strong and growing business are essential for success in this role. •    Manage the day-to-day operations of the hotel while maintaining a forward looking perspective

Job Responsibilities: 
•    Monitor and manage all operational functions including budgets, forecasts, expenses and supplies. 
•    Monitor labor cost and expenses daily.
•    Develop, implement, support and monitor programs and training to insure productive standards, safety and environmental standards, company policies and procedures are met. 
•    Responsible for daily interaction with the client and client's customers and/or employees. Ensure that all efforts are focused upon exceeding each and every guest’s expectations.
•    Plan and conduct staff meetings.  Confer regularly with staff to coordinate activities, assign and check work, resolve problems, etc. Plan work Schedules.  
•    Integration of front desk, housekeeping and laundry and Campground departments into a 
successful efficient operation
•    Meet and exceed guest expectations by using leadership skills, customer service standards, and staff 
training to create an outstanding guest experience.
•    Develop and mentor a quality team through successful planning and recruitment of employees
•    Possess customer service training skills and leadership experience
•    Resolve customer complaints. Respond to inquiries and solve a wide variety of problems.
•    Determine training requirements and construct efficient work schedules.  Formulate staff development plans
•    The ability to identify defects in the preparation and service of food and implement improved quality control 
procedures as well as to communicate effectively with clients, client customers and support staff is required.
•    Lead the lodging management teams in recruiting, hiring, coaching, discipline, promotions 
and evaluations of personnel. 
•    Challenge the Retail and Lodging supervisors and teams to exceed the budgeted revenues and control costs. 
•    Recognize outstanding employees and assist in providing incentives for improvements in standards and sales
•    Oversee the condition of the grounds and all public areas. 
•    Be well informed with regards to all current and upcoming events to ensure efficiency in the operation
•    Foster successful working relationships with key clients and vendors
•    Implement and evaluate policies and procedures for the successful operation of the departments
•    Ensure that all reservations are entered correctly into the system and that the property is prepared for guests’ stay
•    Ensure all Ledgers are accurate and that all departments are following correct procedures
•    Ensure the completion of administrative tasks
•    Participate in the development of pricing and promotional strategies including implementing and monitoring staff 
sales incentives
•    Create a culture of teamwork, communication and positive, can-do attitudes while reinforcing a guest 
centric environment.
•    Direct reports include: Front Desk Supervisor; Housekeeping Supervisor; Retail Supervisor, Campground Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications: 
Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business or other related field and a minimum of 3-5 years of hospitality management experience or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

Must have the ability to manage in a diverse hospitality environment with focus on client and customer services. The ability to manage and analyze a variety of problems including technical and guest service issues is essential. 
Additional requirements include:
•    Superior organizational, time management and communication skills required.  
•    Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to multi-task. 
•    Very good problem resolution techniques.
•    Solid financial skills and accountability. 
•    Must be computer literate with working knowledge of hospitality systems; Springer Miller Host highly preferred.  Proficient computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook. 
•    Must be familiar with a variety of Hotel and concepts, practices and procedures. 
•    Must be willing to work long hours, rotational shifts, weekends, holidays and have rotational days off. 
•    Abilities in marketing, merchandising 
•    P&L accountability experience is required. 
•    Ability to manage and maintain inventory/cost controls is required. 
•    Ability to deal effectively with customers and other Company personnel.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, guests or employees.
•    Very good knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and procedures.  Ability to interpret and apply safety rules, operating, maintenance and procedure manuals.
