Ketchikan Kayak Company

Ketchikan Kayak Co is looking for the right person excited to spend their days outside in a beautiful Alaskan summer. Position comes with safety training in sea kayaking, zodiac boating and biking & hiking (as we do cross train all guides) first aid & wildlife safety (bears & whales).  Ketchikan, Alaska is gorgeous in the summer but we are located in the Tongass National Forest which is a rainforest. Training will include being able to evaluate weather condions for safety and ability to adjust tours by conditions to best accomodate our guests. Weather has a huge range of experiences to offer in Alaska and we tend to bring layers of raingear on the same days we bring sun glasses to work. 

We have a long standing tradition of a staff made up of off-season dive fisherman, wild-life managment, forestry workers, educators and other enthusiasts of the outdoors. What we hope to find is the right person who is excited for active days who shares in the joy our visitors do: being out and about in a beautiful land rich in wildlife.

The company has a house in town available for staff to rent with carpooling transportation to the jobsite arranged. We do not require someone to use this accomodation if they would prefer to arrange their own housing.

Our season starts May 1st and continues through September.  Mid May through Mid September may work also.

Through that time period we are offering this position full time.
