JOB SUMMARY

Join the NOC team as a Photographer/Photo Sales Associate! As a photographer at NOC, the river banks will become your office as you photograph NOC raft trips and private boaters as they run Nantahala Falls rapid on the Nantahala River. In this role, you are responsible for capturing the photos and also selling them to our guests in Photo Finish. This position is classified as summer seasonal and reports to the Photo Management team. Due to the seasonal demand of our business, hours fluctuate week to week and we are looking for applicants that are available for a minimum of 3 months. This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. 

Responsibilities

Guest Service

  • Help guests locate and view their rafting photos at Photo Finish
  • Provide photo format and pricing information
  • Communicate with guests about NOC activities and offerings, local area information and information regarding their trip
  • Provide top notch guest service to all guests
  • Interact, with each guest, with enthusiasm, patience and understanding

Photographing

  • Capture high quality photos of NOC rafts and private crafts as they run Nantahala Falls
  • Adjust camera settings based on varying weather conditions

Cash Handling 

  • Complete credit card and cash sales transactions for photos and retail items
  • Photographing NOC rafts and private crafts as they run Nantahala Falls rapid on the Nantahala, upon successful completion of NOC photography training
  • Open and close register and submit daily reports

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with a DSLR camera
  • Previous cash handling experience 
  • Be comfortable moving and walking on a rocky terrain
  • Be comfortable working in various climates (heat, cold, wind, rain) 
  • Be able to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Communicate well with others
  • Provide excellent guest service
  • Be enthusiastic about sharing outdoor activities with others
  • Maintain high levels of proactive guest service in a busy retail environment
  • Enjoy working in a team setting 
  • Take direction well and be able to work independently
  • Be able to bend, stoop, twist
  • Be able to lift 25lbs.
