    The Boat Services and Property Utility Position works within the North Lake Powell Marine Department to assist in all areas of outdoor boat operations including but not limited to launch and retrieval and dry storage of houseboats and pleasure boats. This is a physically demanding position that involves working outdoors, in extreme heat, wet, and sometimes windy conditions. 

    This position starts immediately with an end date of October 31st, 2024.

    Responsibilities:

    • Works with team members to safely move houseboats to and from Lake Powell and North Lake Powell dry storage area, a distance of 12 miles 
    • Use guidelines to move boats securely onto a houseboat trailer 
    • Drives pilot vehicle to escort houseboats while in transit
    • Stack large wooden blocks in a way that ensures a secure houseboat footing 
    • Fill houseboat water and fuel tanks prior to transport
    • Operate various machinery and equipment as trained and needed
    • Help maintain vehicles by checking fluids and tire pressure
    • Cleans, organizes and removes safety hazards from working areas

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ability to understand and execute verbal commands in a timely and accurate manner
    • Prior experience on or around large boats preferred but not required
    • Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record required
    • Ability to follow verbal and hand commands.
    • Ability to work on, around, and under boats while following safety standards.
    • Ability to frequently stand, walk, jump, climb ladders, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. 
    • Must be able to continuously work outdoors in high heat conditions
    • High School graduate or GED
    • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
    • Must be able to relocate to a remote setting before starting work
    • Pre-employment background check required

  • Marine Services Assistant Manager

    The Marine Services Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing and assisting the North Lake Powell Marine services director and department staff with daily operations including dry boat storage, houseboat launch and retrievals, and mechanical service orders with a focus on providing exemplary customer service, team safety and security. The Marine Services Assistant Manager is a seasonal position ending October 31st, however a possibility for full time employment exists for the right person. Pay may be negotiable depending on experience. 

    Responsibilities

    • Order and receive inventory 
    • Use storage systems to create and manage storage accounts 
    • Use service systems to create service orders and sell displayed and inventoried marine parts
    • Schedule dry storage pleasure boat set outs 
    • Work with the houseboat crew to schedule launch and retrieval of houseboats to and from the lake
    • Assist with customer relations
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Prior experience with storage and service systems such as LiteSpeed and Sitelink preferred but not required
    • Prior experience in customer service preferred
    • Must have a valid driver’s license 
    • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
    • Ability to frequently stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, reach, and lift up to 40 lbs. 
    • High School graduate or GED
    • Must be able to work weekends and holidays

    Responsibilities

    • Give exceptional service and a smile to all guests 
    • Clean lodge rooms and rental homes, including but not limited to:

    • Keep work area stocked, clean, and organized
    • Clean cooking surfaces and equipment such as flat top, fryer, utensils, pots, pans and trays as needed
    • Prepare food ahead of time for service by chopping, slicing, and pulling from freezer for proper cooling temperatures
    • Stock ice, condiment and soft drink area as needed

    Qualifications

    • At least one year of experience as a cook in a prepared food setting
    • Ability to operate or be trained to operate a food related POS system
    • Must follow all health and safety rules and complete SERV safe training
