We pay the best salaries to recruit the best staff! Nothing is more important than our staff and we know it. If you are a hard working individual who enjoys children, you may be just the person we're searching for. Staff members must be able to put kids first at all times. It is also essential that staff members be strong role models for our campers. And because we're working with kids, we have strict policies in many areas including alcohol, smoking, curfew, etc. While it is preferable that our staff members have some experience working with children, this is not a prerequisite. Many program areas require skills and certifications to safely operate and this is a priority. Click here for a list of jobs currently available.
Make a difference this summer. Join us for your most rewarding summer!
Camp Lohikan is located on 1200 acres high in the northeast Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. The camp is situated on a hilltop which overlooks forests, fields, streams, a private lake and miles of mountain vistas. It's beautiful setting with inspiring natural beauty and endless outdoor recreational opportunities.
In addition to these outdoor activities, staff members are also welcome to utilize all of the camp's extensive arts, sports and adventure facilities on their time off. Facilities include: heated swimming pool, private lake with 50+ boats, 11 tennis courts with lights, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, 6 regulation sport fields, game room (coin-free video games, billiards, ping pong), fitness center, dance studio, music building with digital recording studio, performing arts center w/amphitheater, creative arts center w/14 workshops, gymnastics center (fully equipped), bungee trampoline, computer building, 4 story circus center w/flying trapeze, adventure program site w/40' climbing tower, 3 zip lines, high & low ropes course, huge skate park and lots more. The only activities restricted to camper use are jet skis, quads, and horseback riding.
Most staff members spend their days-off socializing with each other and enjoying the numerous off-camp activities located in the area. These include movie theaters, restaurants, miniature golf, regulation golf, white-water rafting, shopping malls, and a variety of entertainment that can be found in the nearby towns of Honesdale, Hancock, Scranton and Binghamton. We're also only about 2.5 hours from New York City which is a trip many of our out-of-state staff members have enjoyed.
Room and board are provided. Weekly laundry service is provided. You have no expenses in camp! You can literally save your summer salary by working at camp!
College-aged counselors live in the cabins with the campers. Our cabins are modern, comfortable buildings equipped with plenty of electrical outlets and contain bathrooms with toilets, sinks and individual stall showers. There are 2 to 3+ counselors assigned to a cabin. Camp supervisors are provided private room accommodations. Supervisors with families are accommodated with family residences.

Staff members with vehicles are welcome to bring them to camp. On premises parking is available. Car pooling on nights and days off is common so a vehicle in camp is not necessary. Most staff members arrive at camp by car. We can put you in touch with other staff members from your area who will be driving to camp for purposes of carpooling.
Some staff members fly to camp. We have camp vans scheduled to pick up/drop off staff at the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Airport in Avoca as well as the Greyhound Bus Station in Scranton at the beginning and end of camp. A number of our overseas staff members fly into Newark Airport in New Jersey and we have a pickup scheduled at this airport at the beginning of camp. Click here for more details.
