Flathead Lake Lodge is a 2,000 acre, family-operated dude ranch located in the Rocky Mountains of northwest Montana, just 35 miles south of Glacier National Park.

We are unique in our location, directly on the shores of Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake, west of the Mississippi. The Ranch combines a western atmosphere and complete horse program, along with the added enjoyment of water sports, hiking, fishing, volleyball, basketball and tennis.

We work as a team to provide the best vacation experience for all our guests. All positions available require good communication skills, an excellent work ethic, an outgoing personality and the physical stamina to work long hours. Even though you may be hired for a specific job, you could find yourself helping out in different areas. Evening activities are set up for both guests and employees to enjoy socializing together.

All employees work a six day work week and receive a monthly salary plus tips.

Recreation

On your time off you can enjoy many of the activities our guests enjoy. Horseback riding, water skiing, boogie boarding, wake boarding, waterskiing, fishing and the use of canoes, kayaks, and sailboats for adventures on the lake.

Golf is available at Eagle Bend Golf Course, a top rated public course, just a few minutes from the ranch. Averill's ranch has tennis, basketball and volleyball courts. Rackets and balls are available at the recreation room.

Room and Board

Rooms are in a nice dorm setting with 2-4 per large room. A nominal fee is deducted for room and board.

The ranch provides room and board, meals, wages, and a share in the tip pool.

Transportation Info

The Glacier Park International Airport (FCA), located 30 minutes from the ranch, offers daily flights on:

• Delta
• Northwest Airlines
• Horizon/Alaska Airlines
• United Airlines

Shuttles service is available to and from the ranch.

Driving to the ranch is a scenic event. Located just off Montana Highway 35, 15 miles south of Kalispell on northeast corner of Flathead Lake, the ranch is easily accessible. Amtrak offers train service to Whitefish, Montana located 45 minutes from the ranch. Shuttle service is available to and from the train station.

Applications for the summer season are due by March 1st. Our summer session begins in mid-May and runs until mid-October. Give careful consideration to the dates of availability you list on the application. Your indicated dates will be instrumental in our decision making process. Please do not apply if you cannot work through Labor Day (for summer employment). All applicants will be contacted either by mail or phone.

Basic requirements for staff include: At least 4 years of high school, two personal and previous work references with your application, be able to work from May through Labor Day or longer and a willingness to adapt to a ranch environment and project a western image.
