Under contract to the National Science Foundation (NSF), Raytheon Polar Services Company (RPSC) provides science, operations, logistics, information technology, construction, and maintenance support at three Antarctic locations.
RPSC seeks employees willing to invest their talents, time and energy to ensure the success of the NSF's United States Antarctic Program (USAP).

We have contract lengths of 4 months, 6 months, 8 months or a year. Most people deploy during the Austral Summer (October-February), but there is also the Austral Winter (February-October) and Winfly (mid August-October). Winfly is the first opportunity we have to get into McMurdo Station after the winter.
There are 3 stations: McMurdo, South Pole and Palmer.

Employees can go hiking, skiing, there are 3 gyms (weights, cardio and large gym for intramural sports), there is a marathon, science lectures to attend, American Night as Scott Base (the New Zealand base), various arts and crafts classes, Ice Stock (bands play live outside on New Years), department sponsored parties, a Coffee House, 2 bars (one smoking and one non smoking).

Dorm Style living with usually one roommate. Food is cafeteria style dining.

We pay for travel to and from the "Ice" and lodging for 2 days in Christchurch, NZ to collect Extreme Cold Weather (ECW) gear. You travel from your airport of departure to Denver, CO for orientation. From there you go to LAX in LA and then fly to Auckland, NZ or Sydney, Australia. You then connect to Christchurch, NZ. After collecting your ECW on the second day, you board a C17 Military aircraft and fly to McMurdo Station.
