About Whites Landing Camp
The property sits on one of the largest areas of flat terrain on the Island, on the Conservancy property, including 1,600 feet of beachfront.
The site can be accessed directly by water (via existing pier and float) or, if necessary, by 4x4 vehicle from either Avalon or Two Harbors areas.
Along with the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the hills of the mountains from White Cove, the campsite at Whites Landing provides outstanding amenities:
- A dining hall with a full commercial kitchen
- Three bathroom facilities (each with separate men’s and women’s restrooms)
- Nine wood-framed bungalows (for the staff or upgraded guest housing)
- 25 raised tent platforms with canvas structure (each has a capacity for four campers)
- Outdoor basketball court, and an outdoor amphitheater.

Room and Board
We offer different free housing accommodations. You will be housed in a mobile home or a tent with a roommate. You have access to a common kitchen, where you can be independent and cook whatever, whenever you want. You can also choose to eat at the restaurant and use your meal discount.

Getting Here and Getting Around
Catalina Island is a very unique place, and its transportation system is quite unique as well. We will explain everything you need to know to get to the camp and are willing to pick you up when you arrive on the Island by the ferry boat.

Whites Landing is primarily known as a private beach escape for kids and families to experience a white sandy cove with water and land-based learning activities like boating, kayaking, hiking, volleyball, and basketball to enjoy. Also known as "Buffalo Beach,” the San Diego Yacht Club outstation was coined due to the bison roaming the cove’s grassy grounds.
