The Lost and Found Attendant assists the Lost and Found Attendant Leader in the operation of an effective Lost and Found service.  He/she is responsible for the collection, protection, and return procedures of all lost items.  Also assists in the maintenance, distribution and the collection of revenues of all Winter Park Recreational Association public lockers.  Provides information and assistance to area guests.  Follows, consistently, all policies and procedures set forth in the Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.

  • Collect and return to rightful owners items, valuables, etc.

  •  Complete all required forms and record all transactions.

  • Pick up lost and found items at designated drop locations.

  • Mail recovered items to guests who have reported a loss and returned home.

  • Maintain and service coin lockers.  Assist guests as needed.  Collect revenues of weekly lockers.

  • Assign and service seasonal and weekly lockers.

  • Assist guests with problems on vending machines and report problems with same.

  • General housekeeping and organization of office area.

WAGE:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resorts hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resorts total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Hourly pay rage: $18.00-$20.00

 Other Duties:

  • Take necessary steps to locate owners of reported lost items, such as contacting banks, credit card companies, etc.

  • Keep accurate, updated records.

  • Handle master keys for coin lockers.  Adhere to all Security measures.

  • Inform the supervisor of locker replacement parts needs.

  • Collect and store all lost and found items at the end of the season.

  • Assist Security as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Maintain a friendly, congenial, and helpful attitude while effectively dealing with the guests and other employees.

  • Report any unsafe conditions regarding equipment and area of work, or elsewhere  on the area.

  • Be aware of area cleanliness and pick up trash.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Office Environment:

  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.

  • Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.

  • Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.

  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.

  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.

Mountain Environment:

  • The occasional physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...

  • The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be medium. Occasionally lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day.

  • Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.

  • Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.

  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.

  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
