Summary Responsible for facilitating the recruiting and hiring processes across all Allen Marine & affiliated companies.  This position will work with hiring authorities and supervisors to assist with the consistent recruiting and hiring needs of the organization especially during the company’s peak seasons.  Assists with critical full-time and long-term seasonal openings as required. Assists with onboarding and other administrative functions of the HR department.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with interview schedules, background checks, and sourcing candidates.
  • Conduct initial resume and phone screening.
  • Monitor open position spreadsheets and especially critical hire lists to assist hiring teams with recruiting employee resource needs.
  • Work with hiring teams to expand candidate pools by maximizing online recruiting.  Be creative in securing new sources of candidates and expanding geographical scope to increase recruiting success.
  • Work with recruiting teams to assist them with learning recruitment management systems and other recruiting, hiring, and onboarding software as needed.  System knowledge and training will also include the company’s Human Resources database system (ADP) and the new employee onboarding workflow.
  • Travel outside of assigned work location will be periodically required to perform job duties.  Ability to travel for offsite recruiting campaigns in state and out of state as needed.
  • Special projects as assigned related to Recruiting/Hiring as well as additional Human Resources projects may be assigned as required by the business.
  • Onsite assistance with I-9s and onboarding during critical seasonal training periods.
  • Contribute to the development of HR objectives and systems, creating metrics, queries and standard reports for ongoing company needs.
  • Support onboarding, new hire orientation and manage HR information systems data for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation and maintenance of the employee handbook, directory and organizational chart.
  • Assist the Housing Coordinator and Director of Employee Experience as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1 year of HR experience in any field or a degree in Human Resources.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent internal and external customer service and fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in tourism, travel, maritime or other seasonal industries.
  • Broad knowledge of Human Resources functions and processes.
