Apply NowCape Fox Tours is seeking a friendly and customer service-oriented Dock Representative to greet and provide introductory tour information to the guests that arrive on cruise ships. This is an awesome opportunity to gain experience in tourism as it relates to the cruise line operations in Ketchikan, Alaska. We are willing to train the right candidates so long as they have great communication skills, are self-motivated, reliable and enjoy engaging with guests from all over the world.
Duties Include:
- Provide personable and friendly interaction with tour guests
- Exhibit professional communication skills with cruise ship staff, partners, and guests
- Possess knowledge of Company Policies and Procedures
- Cheerfully share knowledge of local environment and Cultural history, practices, and today’s lifestyle
- Company liaison to shore excursion staff, assisting with sales and logistics. This includes working with bus companies and ship staff to ensure that the passenger’s special needs are met
- Direct and assist passenger movement between cruise ships and tour busses
- Collect all tickets/vouchers as the passengers’ board motor coaches
- Conduct settlement transactions with cruise line representatives. These settlements must be turned in every day at the end of your shift
- Assist with the distribution of promotional tour materials (brochures/rack cards)
- Maintain periodic reports of passenger counts and daily sales
- Work with drivers to assist passengers in the boarding process and brief passengers about their excursion details
- Complete all related paperwork after each departure in an accurate, timely and consistent manner
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Physical stamina to perform work duties for several hours and in outdoor weather conditions
- Ability to work under pressure, handle stress and deliver professional results
- Long hours and weekends may be required pending tour schedule, must be flexible
- Must be able work with difficult customers/guests in a professional manner
- Previous experience in tourism is desired but not required
- Must have good communication skills and able to communicate information on cultural subject matter
- Must have adequate knowledge of local environment and cultural history, practices, and lifestyle of today
- Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
