Chena Hot Springs Resort, located in the scenic Alaskan wilderness, is seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a General Cook's Helper/Prep Cook. As a renowned resort known for its natural hot springs, stunning views, and exceptional hospitality, we are committed to providing an unforgettable experience to our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the culinary team in various food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.
  • Prepare and portion ingredients according to the recipes and menu specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
  • Follow established health and safety standards in food handling and preparation.
  • Support the line cooks and chefs during service by ensuring timely delivery of prepped ingredients and maintaining stock levels.
  • Assist in setting up and stocking the kitchen stations for daily operations.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and provide assistance wherever needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or culinary training is preferred but not required. We are willing to train candidates with a passion for food and a desire to learn.
  • Basic knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the resort's operational needs.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
