"The wait staff is responsible for serving food and beverages in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner to guests thereby adding to a positive guest experience" said every wait staff position ever posted since the dawn of time. Yes, you'll be expected to do all of the serving things you usually do, but it's a little different at the ranch. We want you to have a personality that can make guests laugh while you clear their plates seamlessly. We want you to take an extra second to listen to a guest's story of their epic hike, and then share what your experience was when you did the same hike on your recent day off. You're going to be seeing these guests every morning and every night, and they'll seek you out. They'll want to be sat at your table, because you told them they needed to visit that secret hot spring just outside of town. Yes, you'll have side work like rolling silverware and cleaning all the time, but you'll be doing it alongside your new friends while you're laughing about the recent antics you got into at the Street Dance the other night. Yes, you'll be expected to be professional, show up to work on time, and help your coworkers when we've got an over-full house at dinner and those random guests show up for dinner a day early because dad was in charge of the calendar, but you'll also be expected to explore, have adventures, and have stories to tell.
Our wait staff has split shifts - our breakfast is served from 7 to 10a, and dinner is served from 5:30 to around 8p. Familiarity with wine styles and craft beer is beneficial, and we're happy to teach you some more. Usually during the day, you'll go on a hike with a friend, head for a float on the river, grab some coffee at Peaks & Perks in town, or just chill out - take a nap, read a book, or do laundry.
Our season is from mid-June to mid-September, and you'll be expected to be available the entire time. You'll occasionally be asked to help other departments in unusually busy times.
