Job Summary: Serves as the front line for Red Lodge Mountain, providing customer service to guests on and off the mountain.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Provide guidance to guests in the base area and on the mountain
  • Serve as parking attendant and parking lot shuttle driver
  • Greet scheduled groups in the parking lot and guide them around the base area for check-in
  • Assist Base Operations departments with shoveling/sanding duties, crowd control, janitorial, and guest related issues
  • Assist guests with baggage and ski gear from their vehicles to lodges
  • Assist Ticket Office staff in processing, storing, and retrieving Lost and Found items
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with efficient, friendly service
  • Effectively communicate with other employees both in person and via telephone/two-way radio

Required:

  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with guests, co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and efficient
  • Ability to work varied schedule including weekends/holidays, snow days, and emergency situations.

Experience/Education:

Preferred:

  • Prior customer service experience
  • Knowledge of the ski industry
  • Intermediate skier or snowboarder

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear and smell.  The employee is frequently required to handle objects, tools, or controls.  Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8-hour work shift.  Must be capable of lifting and moving 50 lbs. or more.  Must be capable of walking on uneven terrain and snow and ice, shoveling snow, bending, stooping, and sitting for extended periods of time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside winter weather conditions, and may work near moving mechanical parts. They will be exposed to extreme cold, windy, and wet conditions.
