Job Title: Repair Technician-Ski Tech

Reports to: Rental/Repair Shop Manager 

Status: Full/Part Time Seasonal

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

Wage: DOE

Job Summary:  Repair and service ski and snowboard equipment, assists guests renting equipment.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Ensure customer satisfaction with efficient, friendly service.
  • Wax and tune skis and snowboards.
  • Adjust bindings on skis and snowboards.
  • Stock and clean repair area.
  • Remove or relocate snow as needed.
  • Assist guests renting equipment.
  • Effectively communicate with other employees both in person and via telephone/two-way radio.

Required:

  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with guests, co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
  • Ability to work varied schedule including weekends/holidays.
  • Attention to detail
  • Previous ski/snowboard repair experience

Experience/Education: 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of the ski industry.
  • Previous work experience with tuning equipment; Base grinders/Stone grinders/Edge machines/Base weld guns.  
  • Previous certification with at least one binding manufacturer.
  • Competence in;  waxing, edge angles, base repairs including core shot repair, stone grind patterns, edge repairs, mounting/adjusting and testing ski bindings.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see and hear.  The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Must be capable of walking or standing 70-100% of a normal 8 hour work shift.  Must be capable of frequently lifting loads of 20-40 lbs or more, and continuously carrying loads of 20-40 lbs.  Must be capable of frequent bending, reaching, and climbing movements on even terrain, walking on uneven terrain, and walking on snow, ice and uphill. Must be able to kneel and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level is moderate. Harsh weather conditions will occasionally be encountered en route to work.
