Greenskeeper

Job Summary: Maintains the Red Lodge Mountain Golf Course greens, driving range, and Golf Shop grounds.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

• Maintain and cut grass on tee boxes, fairways, roughs, fringes, and greens.
• Edge, rake, maintain, and reconstruct sand bunkers.
• Handle aerating, fertilizing, mulching, weeding, and seeding tasks along with correcting drainage problems.
• Use equipment such as greens mowers, tee box mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, bunker rakes, carts, and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools.
• Plant grass according to instructions and planned design of landscaped area, using hand tools.
• Trim hedges and prune trees using hand and power tools.
• Maintain and repair tools and equipment.
• Ensure that customers and employees are treated courteously, safely, and efficiently.
• Observe all RLM Golf Course safety practices and protocols.
• Participate in required trainings and meetings.
• Perform other tasks and duties as required.

Required:

• Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with guests, co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
• Work outside for long periods of time and in all kinds of weather, performing tasks that require physical strength and endurance.
• Understand and follow instructions and specifications.
• Ability to work varied schedule including weekends/holidays.

Experience/Education:

Preferred:

• Prior experience with landscaping/greens maintenance.
• Knowledge of the golf industry.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear and smell.  The employee is frequently required to handle objects, tools, or controls.  Must be capable of walking, standing, or sitting 90% or more of a normal 8-hour work shift.  Must be capable of lifting and moving 50 lbs. or more.  Must be capable of walking on uneven ground, bending, stooping, and sitting for extended periods of time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside mountain weather conditions, and may work near moving mechanical parts. They may be exposed to extreme cold/hot, windy, and wet conditions.  Harsh weather conditions will occasionally be encountered en route to work.
