Job Summary: Assists Lift Operations Manager to give breaks and provide leadership to Lift Operators 

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Maintain constant attention to surroundings while on duty, in order to ensure guest safety.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction with friendly service and a positive attitude.
  • Become knowledgeable of all operational and emergency procedures.
  • Provide safe and efficient control of assigned lift at all times.
  • Perform and document safety checks.
  • Maintain condition and appearance of lift ramps and lift terminal areas. 
  • Prevent fraudulent lift access.
  • Effectively communicate with other employees and guests.
  • Work in outdoor winter conditions for extended periods of time.
  • Delegate job duties as necessary.
  • Aid in ongoing training of operators throughout the season.
  • Provide supervisor with feedback on employees and other job related matters.

Required:

  • At least one year in lift operations or related position.
  • Self-disciplined and self-motivated.
  • Strong supervisory and communication skills.
  • Must be safety conscious and able to make quick decisions.
  • Able to work punctually, with varied schedule including weekends/holidays.
  • Knowledge of the ski industry, lift, and maintenance operations.
  • Familiarity Red Lodge Mountain terrain and surrounding area.
  • Intermediate ski or snowboard skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside winter weather conditions, and frequently works near moving mechanical parts. They will be exposed extreme weather conditions including sub-zero temperatures, wind, snow, and freezing rain

  • Capable of walking or standing for the majority of a normal 8 hour work shift.
  • Capable of walking on uneven, icy, and snowy terrain.
  • Capable of shoveling snow for extended periods of time.
