Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt                                                                                         Status: Full Time/Year Round                                                                                                                                            

Job Summary: Responsible for the management and performance of the wedding/banquet sales, including the development and execution of an annual sales plan. Responsible for all Red Lodge Mountain Weddings and Banquets both on the mountain and at the golf course.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Lead the coordination and operation of all weddings and banquets (exclusive of F&B duties), including scheduling and supervising the set-up and take-down staff.
  • Attends and assists with special events as needed by the marketing team.
  • Assist the Director of Marketing and Sales, Accounting and IT to create reporting to show sales, yields and customer growth through most lines of business.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
  • Visit clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services.
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling.
  • Obtain deposits and balance of payment from clients.
  • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of sales processes and procedures.
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
  • Maintain a proficient knowledge of the operational use of all points-of-sale, group and wedding customer databases, and tee-time scheduling tools.
  • Work with Human Resources to interview, hire, train, and appraise performance of the event employees.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to employees in accordance with RLM policies and State/Federal employment laws.
  • Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.
  • Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, reviews, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources when necessary.
  • Ensure that customers and employees are treated courteously, safely, and efficiently.
  • Manage financial objectives by adhering to a departmental budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with other managers, directors, general manager, and other designated contacts within the organization.
  • Assist subordinates and other departments in performing duties whenever necessary.

  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the organization's management team
  • Safety orientated and able to train employees on safety procedures of equipment used
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices and employee relations
  • Evidence of the ability to practice a high level of confidentiality
  • Available to work holidays and/or weekends
  • Maintain a valid Driver’s License

Experience/ Education

Required:

  • 2 – 4 years’ experience in a sales positon, preferably in the resort or hospitality industry
  • Experience managing staff

Preferred:

  • Experience in coordinating weddings
  • Experience selling and executing events
