Host

The Madrona Bar & Grill is the summer dining hot spot of Roche Harbor Resort. With seating on our large outdoor, over the water deck and our Pacific Northwest bistro menu, lunch and dinner are served to over 1000 guests daily in the middle of summer.

The Host position is a critical position in our Restaurants.  You are responsible for greeting our guests quickly, happily and professionally and are essentially the face and gatekeeper of the restaurant.  Working in close communication with the Restaurant Manager on duty you control the flow and ultimately the success of the meal period for the Restaurant.  We use Resy table management software to maintain waitlists, notify guests through text messages that their table is ready and to track server sections and vacant tables.

Requirements include:

• A Mature, Cheerful and positive attitude.
• Computer Literacy and familiarity with I Pads and cell phones.
• Ability to multitask efficiently and with urgency.
• Quickly communicate with guests what their table options and wait time options are in a professional and courteous manner.
• Be able to find a way to say yes to the guest, even if it involves an alternative solution.
• Be able to stand on your feet, sometimes in one place, for several hours in a row and perform over 18000 steps in a work shift.
• Take direction from management and communicate effectively with management, servers and guests.
• Be able to assist bussers and team when needed, including wiping and resetting tables.
• Able to work well in a team, monitor workplace safety, learn quickly and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Experience Required/Qualifications:

• Preferably at least 1 years hosting, serving or management experience in a busy restaurant environment;
• The ability to read, write and speak conversational English.
• Good computer skills, especially IPad literacy.

Wage: Starting wage will be Washington state Min. wage ($16.66/hour) + an equal share of a tip pool calculated on hours worked during each shift.  Tips average $10 to $12 per hour.

Housing available: Limited (must be at least 18 years old to live in housing)

Start Date: Late April to early June 2025

End Date: After Labor Day to early October 2025
