Cook 1 Madrona Grill Kitchen

Description: Roche Harbor’s Madrona Bar & Grill is the summer dining hot spot on the island. With a large outdoor deck positioned over the water in the center of our active marina.  Our menu features local seafood, custom grind gourmet burgers, street tacos, ethnic sandwiches and artistic organic salads & bowls with a large selection of tempting appetizers. We serve lunch and dinner for 11am to 10pm every day during the summer. Staffed with a five to six person line, this fast paced kitchen and menu are built for speed and will serve an average of 500 lunches and 600 dinners each day, with average ticket times of 8 to 10 minutes.

Responsibilities of Cook 1 include:

  • Possess a Valid Washington State Food Workers Card (ServSafe® Certificate is helpful but does not qualify/replace a Washington State Food Worker Card)
  • Passion for cooking and the willingness to learn from others
  • Sense of urgency and commitment to high quality
  • Understands the importance of team in creating high quality guest experience
  • Developing knife skills and a basic knowledge of kitchen fundamentals
  • Respects the importance of procedures, policies and recipes
  • Show up to work each day refreshed and ready to take on new challenges
  • Mastered cold line station and developing hot line stations

Experience Required/Qualifications: 1 year cooking in fast paced bistro style restaurant or culinary degree

Start Date: April 21, 2025, May 19, 2025 and June 6, 2025

End Date:  September 14, 2025, September 28, 2025 and October 12, 2025

Wage Range: $22 to $24 per/hr.                   Overtime Rate (after 40 hrs.): $33.00 to $36.00 per/hr.

Other Compensation:

  • Shift meal included at no cost to Culinary Staff (non tipped)
  • Chef Uniforms provided with cleaning services. (Chef coat, pants, hat and apron) Culinary staff to provide safety shoes and optional knife set
  • Stay Bonus of $1.00 for every hour worked.  Must arrive on scheduled start date through end date. Termination of employment forfeits all bonus accrual.
  • Star Performance Incentive.  This is earned bonus for staff excelling in their kitchen and is paid weekly: Up to $1.00 for every hour worked for meeting or exceeding star performance standards 20 center per hour for each standard met:

Total compensation potential including End of Season Bonus and Star Performance Incentive: $26.00 per hour

 

Housing is available for singles and couples.  Rent is paid weekly.
