    Position Summary: To support the office of the Chaplain by coordinating and facilitating adventure and outdoor faith-based experiences as well as providing leadership for other religious and spiritual life activities at Snow Mountain Ranch.

    Essential Functions / Requirements:

    • A minimum of two years’ higher education or equivalent experience in ministry, recreation, education or outdoor leadership (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
    • Be a minimum of 21 years of age.
    • Current First Aid and CPR certification is required.  (Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder certification preferred).
    • A minimum of one season of experience facilitating adventure and/or outdoor based programs.
    • Ability to develop and lead spirituality focused adventure and outdoor programming for Snow Mountain Ranch Staff, Volunteers and Guests of all ages.
    • Ability to work and move in a variety of environments, including outdoors in cold and snowy weather and possibly over rough terrain.  Excellent physical condition is required.
    • Provide leadership for TREK Gap Year program through coordinating weekly learning experiences (Fall, Winter, Spring) 

     

    COMPENSATION: This is a seasonal, $240/week (based on 40 hours/week) position, with employee perks including:

    Position Summary: A Building and Maintenance Volunteer responds to issues in guest and staff lodges and cabins and completes basic plumbing, heating, electrical and carpentry repairs. He/she also performs preventative maintenance and completes and submits Work Requests. A Volunteer may also help with trash removal, recycling, litter pick-up, yard work and snow removal. Working outside is required in varied weather conditions. Work hours are scheduled between 7:30 AM and 10:00 PM.

    Position Summary: SMR's property includes the Rowley Homestead and the Just Ranch. Snow Mountain Ranch operates a pioneer history settlement at Rowley Homestead. Following training a volunteer will plan, promote, lead and provide historical programs within the context of Grand County pioneer history. Volunteers will open and close the homestead, greet families and guests, assist Day Camp and CCO camp programs, and demonstrate the use of various farm artifacts. Light housekeeping and yard work will help ensure the authentic appearance of the sites. Must be able to spend up to 6 hours outdoors in various weather conditions and assist historian with various preservation projects. Responds to guests requests for information on any other historical sites in the vicinity of SMR.

    COMPENSATION: As a volunteer there is no compensation. Volunteer perks include:

    • Room
      • Pinewood Lodge: A smaller dorm facility that can house up to 75 staff and is attached to our administration building. This is our 40+ housing, primarily serving our volunteer community. Rooms are doubles and can accommodate a couple. Each room has a full bathroom. There is a TV lounge with refrigerator and microwave. All rooms have a private telephone and internet access.
      • Geronimo Campground: A campground with 26 sites ranging from 15-50 Amps. All sites have electric hook ups while others have additional water and/or sewer. Geronimo camp sites are open from mid-May to mid-September depending on the weather.

    POSITION SUMMARY: To support the office of the Chaplain by coordinating and leading worship experiences, and worship teams as well as providing leadership for other religious and spiritual life activities at Snow Mountain Ranch.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A minimum of two years higher education completed or its equivalent in experience.
    • Previous experience leading worship gatherings.
    • Ability to play guitar or keyboard and sing.
    • Plan and implement staff religious activities here at SMR and events that are held away from Snow Mountain Ranch.
    • Outgoing personality and representative of the Chaplain and Spiritual Programs.
    • Ability to speak before a group.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

    • Maintaining a positive Christian Attitude and Lifestyle.
    • Provide leadership as needed for our TREK program.
    • Act as receptionist and secretary at the Chaplain's Office.
    • Open working with all persons of all faiths and nationalities.
    • Able to maintain confidentiality

    COMPENSATION: This is a seasonal, $280/week (approx. 40 hours/week) position with additional employee perks, including:
