AK Superior Tours is a premier provider of guided tours and transportation services across Alaska. We are currently seeking motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic Driver/Guides to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of Alaska tour driving experience. Position Summary:
As a Driver/Guide for AK Superior Tours, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers while providing insightful and engaging commentary on the local area, wildlife, and cultural heritage. The ideal candidate will combine excellent driving skills, customer service, and a passion for Alaska's natural wonders. AK Superior Tours is known for its above and beyond service. You will be a key representative of the company, creating lasting impressions for our guests. We offer competitive pay and a housing stipend.
Qualifications:
DOT CDL (Commercial Driver's License): Must have a valid Class A or B CDL with passenger endorsement (or the ability to obtain one prior to employment).
Clean Driving Record: No major moving violations or accidents in the past 3 years. Must pass background checks and DOT drug/alcohol testing.
Experience: Three years of previous driving and guiding experience preferred. Experience in Alaska tourism or hospitality is desired. Having basic mechanical repair skills is a plus.
Driven: You must be driven to fulfill tour duties, bus cleaning and maintenance tasks in an environment of limited supervision and need for performance feedback.
Tech: Must own and be comfortable using a smartphone or tablet with a reliable data connection. Ability to navigate and use basic apps and GPS systems. Must be comfortable with learning cloud based programs that we use.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (for luggage handling) and perform physically demanding tasks such as frequent entry and exit of the vehicle.
Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills with a clear and engaging speaking voice. Ability to narrate accurate Alaska tour material and adapt to the needs of the group.
Customer Focus: Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service.
Flexible Schedule: Must be available for variable hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours are often part of the job.
