Inside Cook/Prep  

As a cook/prep for our kitchen, you will be part of a small team that will feed thousands of guests per week!   You will:   

  • Be ready to be on your feet for long periods of time, and comfortable with working in a smaller kitchen space  

  • Be prepared for some light lifting – up to 20 lbs or so 

  • Prepare all hot and cold food items per recipes, no exceptions! 

  • Determine amount of food to prepare, keeping waste and leftovers to a minimum.  

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen area and food storage areas.  

  • Comply with all food service regulations. 

  • Closely follow all rules and policies regarding uniforms and grooming 

  • Assist with daily opening and closing procedures, along with other cleaning duties  

  • Must obtain Alaska Food Handler’s card

Front of House/Outside Food Service Specialist  

As a food service specialist, your main focus will be centered around the guest experience. You will be tasked with ensuring guests are happy, the facilities are clean and assist other employees when necessary to ensure a smooth operation.   As an outside food service specialist, you will:  

  • Be on your feet for long periods of time and outdoors during colder/rainy weather  

  • Work around  large groups of people in a fast paced environment 

  • Closely follow all rules and policies regarding uniforms and grooming 

  • Perform busser duties and clean tables, along with carrying tubs of dishes to kitchen for washing  

  • Check in with guests and answer questions 

  • Check all outside dining stations to ensure they stocked and cleaned as needed 

  • Perform all daily opening and closing procedures, and assist with cleaning and other tasks 

  • Must obtain Alaska Food Handler’s card   

Greeter  

As a greeter, you are the first employee of the Gold Creek Salmon Bake that guests will meet.   This may be on a bus after it arrives,  or as guests exit a vehicle.  

You will:  Be on your feet for long periods of time and outdoors during colder/rainy weather 

  • Greet buses upon arrival (applies to all full size buses that are not operated by ATA)  

  • Be comfortable with public speaking  

  • Prepare an enthusiastic introduction for the salmon bake – food and beverages offered, locations, activities on site  

  • Communicate with dispatch and bus-drivers regarding arrival times and passenger counts 

  • Communicate arrivals and changes in schedule to  other team members 

  • Greet and direct customers as needed for buses that do not require on-board greeting  

  • Inform guests of ship call times 

  • Closely follow all rules and policies regarding uniforms and grooming 

  • Provide assistance with other duties for outside dining areas  

  • Must obtain Alaska Food Handler’s card
