Job Description
The Snowcat Operator is responsible for the safe execution of grooming and maintenance of the Togwotee snowmobiling trails and communicating trail status and conditions to Togwotee staff. Operators in this position must hold a current certification with a major manufacturer or several years of experience operating a snow cat or similar machinery.
Job Responsibilities
• Must complete a daily vehicle inspection form prior to operating and after finishing their route.
• Maintain a safe and accessible trail system and communicate any concerns to management.
• Maintain equipment, including cleaning snowcat at the end of shifts, and communicate equipment conditions to appropriate staff.
• Apply all safety equipment available, always wear seat belt when operating.
• Operators are required to operate safely, and cautiously in all situations
• Operators should be highly knowledgeable about best practices when operating machinery and avoid any high-risk activities when operating.
• Fuel, clean, and inspect vehicle when required.
• Identify maintenance and safety issues and take the correct steps to correct them, and report malfunctions immediately.
• May be required to do maintenance and safety inspections on service trucks, pickups, trailers, and other vehicles and equipment. This includes checking and changing oil and tires, lights, and general vehicle condition
• Take vehicle to car wash when necessary
• Attend all scheduled department and safety meetings
• Share innovative ideas to improve efficiency and operations
• Know and follow all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies, and energy, as well as rules of the road.

Qualifications
• Must be age 21 years or older
• 1 year + snowcat operating experience and vehicle mechanical experience is preferred as well as customer service experience
• Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and participate in the random drug/alcohol testing pool
• Must complete and pass Defensive Driving Course prior to driving a company vehicle
• Experience operating snowcat in all weather conditions including winter weather and accessory installation
• Equipment Used: Company Vehicle, Walkie-Talkie, Hand Truck, Computer, Hand Truck, Photocopier, Printer, Telephone,
• Travel Requirements: Little or no travel required (less than 10%)
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
