A Place Unchanged with Time!

Surrounded by ancient sequoia trees, endless wilderness, and the majestic beauty of El Capitan and Half Dome, our team at Yosemite provides guest hospitality like no other. With restaurants, hotels, and year-round activities, you will have a unique opportunity to live, work, and play in the ultimate outdoor playground. Spirit of adventure and memories await you at Yosemite!

Located Central California's Sierra Mountains, you'll find Yosemite, just 4 hours east of San Francisco. The idea of national parks began here when Abraham Lincoln signed the Yosemite Land Grant on June 30, 1864, during the Civil War. This was the first time the government signed the protection of public lands into public policy based on natural beauty and preservation for future generations.

Our staff size varies depending on the time of year. We average 1,000 employees year-round and can jump to 1,500 in the summer season. We are a year-round park offering countless experiences for guests, including dining, backpacking, stables, and winter sports. We pride ourselves in being a strong community and stewards of Yosemite National Park, helping preserve our beautiful home.

You’ll have the opportunity to spend your days building a career in hospitality and your free time enjoying the outdoors. Yosemite overflows with history and opportunities to try new things. You're surrounded by awe-inspiring views and iconic landmarks, such as Half Dome, El Capitan, and Yosemite Falls. On days off, you can take advantage of the park by exploring the sites in the valley, take a drive to the high country to experience the beauty of the park without another person in sight, or venture to one of the many groves of giant sequoia trees across the park.

If you have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and are seeking the experience of living, working, and learning in a beautiful setting, Yosemite National Park is the perfect place to pursue what matters to you and your career. Room and Board

Housing rates vary based on position and type of housing available. If you are new to Yosemite, plan on very basic accommodations, such as canvas tents and rustic cabins. Room sizes vary between buildings and properties: for the most part, rooms are small, and you will have one or two roommates. Basic furniture and bear boxes are provided for clothes and food storage, and we ask employees to provide their own linin and bedding.

Discounts are offered on most food operations in the park and at grocery stores. Community kitchens are also available for those who prefer to cook for themselves. Employees also have access to a gym and activity center, laundry facilities, and more.

In the summertime, residents can apply to move into the Environmental Living and Learning Community (ELLC). This small neighborhood focuses on what it truly means to be a steward of the land, conserving energy and water usage. Residential employees here bond together to teach others how to live sustainable lives in Yosemite National Park.

Employee Perks

Working at Yosemite is a special experience, and we want to make sure that our employees are able to make the most of living, working, and learning here for the season. As part of the Aramark team, you’ll have access to:

  • Discounts at retail and dining locations

  • Competitive benefits based on length of employment

  • Wellness Center & Community Center for staff

  • Planned activities and events at a free or low cost

Getting Here and Getting Around

If you are flying, there are a few airports approximately 2.5 - 5 hours away. Most employees who choose to travel here by air fly into Fresno, Sacramento, San Jose, or Oakland. Public transportation from these airports is available at different rates; plan ahead as some trips can take up to 6 hours.

Employees are welcome to drive to the park, but please note that parking is extremely limited, especially in the busy summer season. We encourage associates to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and walk to and from work. In addition, the park is set up with miles of bike paths, as biking is highly encouraged and the most efficient way to travel during the spring and summer. There are free shuttles that transport you around the Yosemite Valley, and a low-cost bus system for nearby communities.

For Fun

The remote setting of Yosemite offers a rare opportunity to explore and experience nature at its finest year-round Spend your winter enjoying skiing, ice skating, and snow tubing. Summer activities include tons of hiking, rock climbing, rafting, and more!

The team at Yosemite also organizes free staff activities and trips throughout the season. The park also hosts unique events for employees and guests alike, such as tours, theater performances, wine and food events, photography classes, and park clean up days.
