We need an independent, hardworking, sled dog handler/musher for our upcoming busy winter season. This is mostly an outside position so you must have your own winter gear, be able to handle very cold conditions, and be experienced or at least willing to learn all about sled dogs, mushing, dog handling, etc.
This position will also involve trail maintenance, brush clearing, snow shoveling, and more. Lots of hard work to do in the Arctic! We provide housing with a private sleeping room, and a short walk to shower/laundry facilities & shared bathroom.
You'll need to get yourself to Fairbanks, then we will get you a ticket up to Bettles to start work, and another one way back to Fairbanks hopefully at the end of a successful season, or if you have to quit or are terminated from the Lodge.
No employee pets are allowed. Although employee meals are included as part of your wages, realize you should not be "picky" or need a special diet, that is not offered here in the Arctic Bush of Alaska, while we do provide plenty of calories and good homemade food, employees get what is available, at the time. No employee (or Guest) cooking facilities are available, and we have one Chef that feeds both our small crew of employees and Guests.
We'll need your work experience/resume' with dates. Please provide 5 professional references that I can contact.
