Sushi Chef
The Oar is a seasonal high-volume family-owned 280-seat waterfront restaurant seeking a qualified Sushi Chef for the upcoming 2024 summer season. Located on beautiful Block Island, a small island off the coast of Rhode Island, which is accessible only by ferry. We are requiring a chef with five years of experience that can work independently as well as be a team player. You will be expected to produce rolls, nigiri, and sushi efficiently and neatly in a high-pressure restaurant setting. Position runs from May 22, 2025 to October 3, 2025 with a six-day work week, and compensation is hourly based on your experience, skills, and dedication. This is a challenging sushi bar producing over 80 thousand rolls over six months. Must be able to relocate for the 2023 summer season. For this position, we offer a studio apartment. Candidates must be able to relocate for the summer season and housing is available at $85/week. Housing is only available for employees who are available to work for the full season.
