Join our team and inspire young minds through adventure, nature, and hands-on learning!
Our Outdoor Education Program offers a unique opportunity for those who want to break free from the indoor routine and make a meaningful impact on today’s youth. As an Outdoor Education Instructor, you’ll be part of a team dedicated to guiding school groups from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade in outdoor-based activities that explore adventure, team bonding, and environmental science.
Position Highlights: As an instructor, you’ll lead a variety of activities designed to engage students with nature, teach valuable outdoor skills, and spark curiosity about the environment. No two days are the same—one day, you may facilitate adventure classes like canoeing, archery, ziplining, or the giant swing, while the next day you may introduce students to environmental subjects such as botany, organic gardening, herpetology, ornithology, or mammalogy using our diverse array of animal ambassadors.
Comprehensive training is provided in all areas, from adventure-based skills to wildlife education. You’ll also receive certifications, including:
Level 1 ACCT Ropes Course Certification
NASP Archery Certification
Animal Care and Handling Training for reptiles, birds of prey, and more
Our program is designed to support your growth as an instructor, providing hands-on experience, team collaboration, and opportunities to develop your facilitation skills throughout the season.
Schedule & Work Environment:
Full-time, Monday–Friday through May, with paid time off during spring break. Optional hourly work available during weekends starting at $25/hr.
Variable schedule with rewarding, full days, sometimes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays typically ending around 2pm.
No overnight supervision is required; instructors are responsible for students only during activity hours, with support from adult chaperones.
Outside of instructional hours, duties include curriculum development, facility upkeep, and animal care.
What We Offer:
Room and Board: Private room with a shared kitchen, living area, and bathroom
Health Care: Provided at no cost after 30 days of employment
Access to Facilities: Enjoy camp amenities during your off time, including swimming pools, basketball, pickleball, and tennis courts, gym, two lakes, and more
Beautiful Campus: A 1,100-acre "office" of woods, water, and wildlife
Close-Knit Team: Work alongside passionate, like-minded educators
Extra Pay for Weekend Work: Additional $25/hour for weekend activities if needed
What We’re Looking For: Qualified candidates will have:
A bachelor's degree OR relevant experience working with youth in an outdoor setting
Flexibility to work outdoors in all weather conditions and adaptability for varied days
Stamina to manage long hours and physical tasks, including standing for extended periods
Comfort with heights and handling animals (though we do not require our instructors to climb or obtain L1 certification for our ropes course, it is a plus!)
A passion for working with children and the curiosity to explore and teach new things
An open mind and a fun-loving attitude that creates a positive learning atmosphere
If you’re excited to share your love for the outdoors, engage with young learners, and join a team that values growth, exploration, and making memories, we’d love to hear from you!
