The Badlands National Park is the largest protected mixed grass prairie in the United States. This unique region, located just 70 miles east of Rapid City, was ruthlessly ravaged by wind and water that became a scenic wonderland for national park explorers to enjoy. 

The General Manager of Badlands National Park will be responsible for the Badlands Inn, Cedar Pass Lodge, and other guest operations in Badlands National Park. The areas of responsibility include lodging, food and beverage, retail and more. The General Manager will provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of our service culture, maximized operations and guest satisfaction. Work very closely with the National Park Services and managing contract compliance. 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Oversee the operations functions of the location, as per the Organizational chart. 
  • Ensure full compliance to Aramark operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures, and service standards. 
  • Handling complaints and oversee the service recovery procedures. 
  • Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded. 
  • Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of all stakeholder. 
  • Deliver budget goals and set other short and long term strategic goals for the property. Developing improvement actions, carry out costs savings. 
  • A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies 
  • Closely monitor the reports daily and take decisions accordingly.  
  • Helping in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment and contracting with third-party vendors for essential equipment’s and services. 
  • Act as a final decision maker in hiring a key staff. 
  • Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with leadership team daily. Provide effective leadership to hotel team members. 
  • Lead in all aspects of business planning. 
  • Responsible for safeguarding the quality of operations both (internal & external audits). Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved. 
  • Manages resources to ensure quality and cost control within budgetary guidelines. 
  • Implements and maintains Aramark’s agenda for both labor and service. 
  • Creates value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management. 
  • Maintains a safe and healthy environment for partners, guests, and associates.  
  • Complies with all applicable policies, rules, and regulations, including (but not limited to) those relating to safety, health, wildlife and wage and hour practices. 
  • Other duties as assigned by management
