Job Description
As a Mountain Biking Counselor, you'll lead the mountain biking program and sports activities for various camp units, mentoring campers in biking skills, overseeing maintenance, and organizing exciting events like Play Day. CPR/WFA certification is required.

Essential Job Functions:

• Teach campers to ride on rough terrain.

• Fix problems with the bikes and regularly maintain them.

• Size campers properly for bikes.

• Assist campers with earning patches (archery, mountain biking).

• Accompany campers on technical rock-climbing trips with KMAC guides.

• Belay campers on the climbing wall under the direction and supervision of the Climbing Wall Coordinator.

• Plan and run Play Day, a field day (think “low-key Olympics” or color wars), on the first Sunday of each term between brother/sister units.

Enjoy provided accommodation and delicious meals amidst the breathtaking beauty of Estes Park. Housing arrangements vary based on position and include cozy cabins and shared living spaces, fostering a sense of camaraderie among staff.

Season & Dates
Our summer camp spans multiple programs, welcoming over 1,200 campers annually. Your commitment will be essential from May 31st to August 10th, with opportunities through October, guiding campers through a transformative journey amidst the Rockies.

Preferred Skills: Because of the level of mountain biking at Cheley Colorado Camps, applicants should have some mountain biking experience and bike maintenance skills. We provide mountain biking counselors with extensive training so our counselors can provide our campers with a beautiful and memorable experience. Ability to lead a variety of sports.

Physical Requirements: Must have visual and auditory ability to assess any unsafe environment or hazard. Must have physical ability and strength to lead activities five days a week, and to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid.
