Overview:
Cliff Dwellers Lodge is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and kitchen efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background, demonstrated leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining exceptional kitchen practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:

    • Directly supervise kitchen staff, including line cooks and prep cooks, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.

    • Implement and enforce kitchen policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Food Preparation and Cooking:

    • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring adherence to cooking times and temperatures for optimal food safety.

    • Conduct regular quality checks on all food items before they are served to guests.

  • Inventory Management:

    • Monitor inventory levels, conducting regular stock takes and placing orders as necessary to ensure the availability of essential ingredients.

    • Implement effective cost-control measures to minimize waste and maximize profitability.

  • Staff Training and Development:

    • Train new kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and operational procedures.

    • Conduct ongoing training sessions to enhance staff skills and maintain high-performance standards.

  • Collaboration with Front-of-House:

    • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to coordinate timing for food orders and ensure smooth service delivery.

    • Address any service issues or guest concerns promptly to enhance the dining experience.

  • Sanitation and Cleanliness:

    • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring that all equipment and workstations meet sanitation standards.

    • Oversee the cleaning schedule and ensure compliance with local health department regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management restaurant position.

  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.

  • Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
