Guest Room Cleaning & Preparation:
● Strip rooms of used bed linens, towels, and trash, and prepare for deep cleaning.
● Replace stained or dirty bathtub curtains and refresh curtains weekly.
● Make the bed(s) with fresh linens and ensure the presentation is neat.
● Dust all surfaces, including TVs, cabinets, and AC filters.
● Wipe down mirrors, windows, and remove marks from walls.
● Clean and disinfect bathroom areas, including toilets, bathtubs, and exhaust fans.
● Restock towels, toiletries, and other amenities for guest convenience.
● Vacuum the bedroom and mop the bathroom floor as the final step. -
Appliance & Electronics Maintenance:
● Clean and inspect the coffee maker and mini-fridge, inside and out.
● Check all lightbulbs and replace if necessary.
● Test TVs and ensure they are turned off when not in use. -
Common Areas & Property Upkeep:
● Wipe down outdoor tables, chairs, and other furniture in shared spaces.
● Maintain cleanliness and organization of outdoor areas, including removing dead bugs from light fixtures and cleaning exterior lamps.
● Ensure that all guest information binders and in-room documentation are well-presented and up-to-date. -
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects:
● Perform periodic deep cleaning tasks, including cleaning lamps, AC units, and removing debris from air filters.
● Spot clean carpets and remove any visible stains.
● Assist with any special cleaning projects as assigned by management. -
Team Support & Communication:
● Report any maintenance issues, damage, or missing items in guest rooms or common areas to management.
● Communicate with the front desk and other team members to ensure guest requests are handled promptly.
● Support other housekeepers or staff when necessary to ensure all areas of the hotel meet cleanliness standards. - Help with any other duties as assigned.

Kayak Loading & Unloading:
● Assist in hauling, loading, and unloading kayaks, paddles, and PFDs for each trip.
● Transport kayaks and equipment to the Lees Ferry dock before each trip, ensuring all items are ready for departure.
● Work closely with the boat captains to verify that the correct number of kayaks, paddles, and PFDs are available for each trip. -
Daily Cleaning & Maintenance:
● Perform daily cleaning of kayaks after each trip, ensuring they are free of dirt, debris, and water.
● Inspect PFDs for wear and tear, cleaning them after use and storing them properly.
● Conduct basic maintenance on kayaks, including checking for damages, tightening fittings, and reporting any repair needs to management. Check inflation on all chambers of each kayak being used each day. -
Equipment Preparation & Organization:
● Ensure all kayaks and paddles are properly organized and stored when not in use.
● Regularly inspect gear to ensure everything is in good working order, addressing any issues promptly to avoid equipment failures on trips.
● Prepare and organize all equipment needed for the next day's trips to ensure smooth and timely operations. -
Collaboration with Boat Captains & Team:
● Coordinate with boat captains and guides to ensure proper gear is distributed and assist with setting up for each trip.
● Communicate effectively with the team to address any issues related to equipment or trip preparations. -
Towing & Trailer Management:
● Safely tow and back trailers with kayaks and equipment to and from the dock.
● Ensure trailers are loaded securely and follow proper safety procedures when transporting gear. -
General Maintenance & Property Upkeep:
● Maintain cleanliness of the kayak storage area and dock, ensuring a safe and orderly environment.
● Assist with any additional tasks as needed, including organizing equipment, assisting guests, or supporting other team members. - Food Preparation: Wash, chop, and marinate ingredients as needed for various menu items. Ensure all prepped items are labeled, dated, and initialized.
- Cooking: Prepare and assemble dishes according to standardized recipes, maintaining proper cooking times and temperatures for food safety.
- Menu Adherence: Follow the menu and recipe book at the prep station to ensure consistency and quality presentation in every dish.
- Inventory Management/Labeling: Assist in managing food inventory, following standard procedures for receiving, storing, and rotating stock to minimize waste.
- Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Safely operate kitchen equipment, ensuring it is cleaned and maintained properly.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and timely service.
- Turn Time: Aim for a 15-20 minute turnaround for food orders, coordinating with front-of-house staff.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of food during preparation and cooking, making adjustments to meet standards.
- Guided Lunches: Check for tickets at the prep station for guided lunches.
- Attendance: Maintain a positive attendance record by reporting for assigned shifts on time.
- Sanitation and Safety Standards: Follow all sanitation and safety protocols.
- Prep List Communication: Accurately prepare and communicate the prep list between AM & PM shifts.
- Order Communication: Clearly communicate orders and needs to station cooks.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all menu items meet company quality standards 100% of the time.
- Order Readiness: Communicate with servers when orders are ready for delivery within one minute of plating.
- Service Completion: Complete meals for all persons at each table in the assigned section, adhering to speed of service standards.
- Side Work Duties: Perform assigned side work duties satisfactorily.
- End-of-Shift Procedures: Follow all end-of-shift checkout procedures.
- Team Environment: Foster a positive team environment by assisting other team members as needed.
- Previous cooking experience in a restaurant or similar environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Housekeeper
As a Housekeeper at our small boutique hotel, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of guest rooms and the overall property. Beyond guest rooms, you will also contribute to the cleanliness and upkeep of common areas and outdoor spaces, creating a welcoming environment throughout the hotel.

Kayak Helper
As a Kayak Helper at Kayak Horseshoe Bend (KHSB), you will play a key role in ensuring our kayaking trips run smoothly and safely. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading kayaks, maintaining equipment, and assisting boat captains to ensure all gear is prepared for each trip. You will also perform daily cleaning and basic maintenance of kayaks and Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs). This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, towing experience, and a passion for outdoor activities.

● Experience with towing and backing trailers is required. 8 foot wide trailer!
● Strong physical stamina to handle heavy lifting and outdoor conditions.

● Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring guest safety and satisfaction.
● Previous experience in outdoor or water sports activities is a plus but not required.

This role involves working outdoors, often in variable weather conditions. Physical strength is required for loading and unloading equipment, and flexibility in shifts, including weekends, may be necessary.
