Coachwhip Cafe is looking for cooks with restaurant and/or culinary work experience

Who:  We are looking for employees who want to learn and develop their culinary skills. We are looking for culinary professionals that have it dialed in, take pride in their work, have a great work ethic, and want to work in the beautiful eastern Sierra.  We are looking for hardworking people with positive attitudes, and who have experience working in high-volume/fast-pace food service environments.  We need people who genuinely care about the customers we serve and every plate we put out. We are looking to create an all-star team of Culinarians, who like to work hard and play hard!

** Employees must have a clean criminal record to enter work location.

** Employees must have their own transportation.

What:  You will be working alongside the owners of Coachwhip Cafe both at the restaurant and on the 20ft mobile food trailer.  During this time we will be working on the local Marine Base (MWTC) feeding a training group of 800 marines, typically we feed 400+ marines each day.  These days can be long (and rewarding) including restaurant prep, loading/unloading of food trailer supplies & equipment, and food service operations on base.  Employee bonuses are available!

Where:  Coleville, CA located in Mono County, and Marine Base (MWTC), located in the beautiful Eastern Sierra.  The Sierra is home to world class hiking, skiing, climbing, and recreation. You will be staying @ the quaint and friendly Andruss Motel.

When:  This seasonal position starts Jan 6th, and runs through March 30th.  If you enjoy your work experience here you can have the option to remain on staff for remote weekend events such as local festivals, private catering events, and other mobile events during spring and summer. This offers a flexible schedule with plenty of downtime (working 3-4 days a week), and/or return to perform the same job duties on the Marine Base for the next training session, these are held each year during the months of January-March, June, and August.  This is a great opportunity to use your culinary skills, learn the art of operating a food trailer in a remote location,  and enjoy the outdoors.

How:  You must have your own vehicle.  Housing is provided, you will be charged $150 per week deducted directly from your paycheck for housing. Carpooling and shuttling is possible in Winter road conditions.

We have a world class chef with over 20 years of industry experience in catering, high volume, fine dining, and culinary education.  We look forward to working with and developing a crew that likes to work hard, provide service with a smile, has a positive attitude, and enjoys mountain life.
