About Rush Creek Lodge & Spa
Rush Creek Lodge & Spa, which opened in 2016, is built on a historic property fondly known as a Gold Rush claim that just didn’t pan out! Like Evergreen, Rush Creek served as a social hub throughout the Gold Rush era, and is pleased to provide a warm welcome to modern day travelers seeking to bask in Yosemite’s warm glow.
With 143 Lodge Rooms, Suites and Villas situated on 20 hillside acres, and a gorgeous Yosemite-inspired Spa, the Lodge’s mood is laid-back luxury. Located less than a mile from Yosemite’s Hwy 120 West entrance, Rush Creek is a favorite for easiest access to Yosemite.
Rush Creek is privately owned and lovingly operated by Lee Zimmerman and Brian Anderluh, and is a Certified B Corporation.
The Employee Experience
Rush Creek Lodge is a special places to work, just as they are special places for our guests. We are committed to creating a supportive environment and a rewarding work experience for our staff. While we have high expectations of staff, successful staff members love working at the Lodges and don't want to leave.
The Lodge provides great career opportunities for talented staff and managers. Since the lodges have a significant recreational focus, we seek staff and managers who are excited about the outdoors and lead a healthy, active lifestyle.
In addition to its primary function as a tourist resort, Rush Creek Lodge runs an employment program in which young adults ages 18-24 join our staff for a program of career-oriented training and work experience coupled with exposure to a rich set of outdoor and recreational life experiences. With this in mind, we look to hire experienced staff who are excited to support and serve as role models for those in our program.
Room and Board
Most staff at Rush Creek Lodge live on-site in employee housing and is offered to all employees with availability. Off-site employee housing is also an option. We do not permit pets in our employee housing.
Room & Board (including rent, utilities, staff meals, laundry, Wifi, access to resort amenities, and more) is provided for a fixed weekly fee.
Employee Perks
Rush Creek Lodge one of the first resorts of their size to offer medical and dental benefits for management staff as well as hourly staff.
Our staff are able to utilize most of the guests services and a very discounted rate or free of charge including the pool and guided hikes and tours. In addition to all the amazing activities employees can utilize and participate in, we also have an Employee Wellness Program. The Wellness team works very hard to create healthy activities and build on our positive community. They are busy creating different trips, events, arts & crafts, and organized sports. Another option this program provides are weekly town trips to Sonora, CA. Sonora is about a 1 hour and 15 minute drive from our Lodges and is the closest town to our Lodges that provides access to department stores, movie theaters, performing arts, and a wonderful cultural experience in the heart of Gold Country including Historical State Parks.
Getting Here and Getting Around
Rush Creek Lodge is not served by any convenient public transportation. Recruiters will assist in arranging transportation to the lodge for arriving staff if you do not have a car. YARTS is a great seasonal option for entering into the park with a stop at Rush Creek Lodge as weather permits.
For Fun
Yosemite is one of the most spectacular places on earth, and is a recreation-lover's paradise. It offers the country’s highest waterfalls and largest granite walls, along with stunning scenery and a diverse set of activities, elevations and topographies. From hair raising vistas to serene meadows, Yosemite also has many different moods. Perhaps, more impressive is the diversity and changes one experiences from month to month throughout the year. Yosemite truly presents a different face each season.
