These internships are training positions, and we invest a lot of time and energy in that training. Our internship program is a big part of who we are. It’s more like a Trade School, with great job placement opportunities. All current staff started as interns.
Apprentice Guides learn to lead their own groups trekking on the glacier, assist on ice climbing trips, and learn a variety of other "Alaska" skills. After reaching the training goals in late June, Apprentice Guides are eligible for a gear allowance. Bonus and Travel Reimbursement on completion of the season.
You'll live in your own tent at our Base Camp overlooking the Matanuska Glacier and share the Crew Kitchen with some of the best friends you'll ever have.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Minimum age 20 years by June 1
Valid US Drivers License
Have a legal right to work in the US, we cannot sponsor visa applications
WFR or WFA
