    Responsibilities

    • Prep and set up food displays for specified hot and cold items.
    • Maintain cleanliness and sanitary dining room and work area throughout the duration of the event.
    • Keep culinary team informed about food quality and quantity.
    • Practice proper sanitation standards.
    • Assist Unit Management with special tour functions in setup, including moving tables, banquet equipment, serving and breakdown.
    • Shift lengths may extend beyond a standard workday to include double shifts or split shifts as business demands.
    • Days off may rotate from time to time due to business demands including the need to work weekends and holidays.
    • Provide information to new Tour employees as to procedures for the position.
    • Ensure that sanitation procedures are being utilized in all front of house and back of house areas.
    • Adhere to all safety and risk management policies.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Previous cafeteria or serving experience preferred.
    • Ability to carry a serving tray.
    • Good verbal communication skills with ability to convey instructions in training new employees.
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
    • Ability to courteously interact with a broad cross-section of guests.
    • Ability to prep cold food.
    • Ability to learn, apply and firmly enforce Arizona State liquor laws as well as Xanterra South Rim Alcohol policies and National Park Service Requirements.
    • Physically able to move tables, work in a fast paced atmosphere, climb ladders, set up sound equipment and change out 15.5 gallon beer kegs when required.

    Responsibilities

    • Deliver and pick up linens from collection pick up and distribution points.
    • Maintain pick and delivery schedules throughout the day.
    • Assist with Laundry Utility duties as assigned throughout shift.
    • Adhere to service and maintenance schedule for vehicle, and maintain cleanliness of the vehicle.
    • Continually focus on providing exceptional guest service as a primary goal, both in how work is conducted and when interacting with guests.
    • Use assigned vehicle for pick up/delivery of linens only, unless directed otherwise.
    • Adhere to all risk management procedures in the lifting, loading and handling of linens, use of machinery, handling of biohazard designated linens and uniforms, and use of detergents and cleaners.

    • Maintain key control for all issued keys.

    Qualifications

    • Must be at least 19 years old
    • Possess valid Arizona Driver’s License and comply with the Xanterra South Rim Company Vehicle Policy.
    • Ability to drive a cube box style truck, including the expertise to back the truck into tight areas for pickup and delivery.
    • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with and project the image of professionalism, friendliness and willingness to provide personalized service to our varied customer and employee base.

    Physical Requirements include:

    Responsibilities

    • Pick up and deliver mail received Monday through Friday at the operating units.
    • Process metered mail to be delivered Monday through Friday to the Post Office.
    • Sort and distribute interdepartmental mail to unit mailboxes at the General Office.
    • Handle daily AM pick-ups, with Security staff, of all envelopes and paperwork that need to be collected throughout the park and taken to Cash Operations office.
    • Monitor and maintain adequate metering value for Pitney Bowes machine.
    • Monitor and call for periodic maintenance on all mailroom and copy machine equipment. Maintain and order supplies for the mailroom and two copy machines. Ensure that copiers are fully stocked with paper at all times
    • Record for general ledger input monthly unit postage and photocopy expenses and forward to the Special Projects Accountant.
    • Log returned payroll checks and then forward the checks to the regional payroll office.
    • Maintain fueling of accounting vehicles.
    • Handle the department’s record retention process including tracking, packing and movement of boxes, maintaining inventory reports, requests for destruction and final destruction of records.
    • Act as the department representative for the property Safety Committee.
    • Maintain, update, and revise the mailroom desk policy and procedures manual as needed.
    • Maintain list of mailbox keys. Oversee the issuing and returning of the mailbox keys when there is a change of personnel.
    • Cross train in the position of Administrative Assistant as well as other accounting positions as directed and assist in covering shifts when needed.
    • Participate in internal audits as assigned.
    • Participate in annual retail inventories as assigned.
    • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Responsibilities

    • Work closely with the Unit Manager, Assistant Restaurant Managers, and Sous Chefs to maintain the operations, ensure product quality, consistent plate presentations while fostering a positive and educational work environment.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in preparing for and developing sustainable business strategies and new environmental programs for Xanterra including program development pertaining to Xanterra’s concession contract with the National Park Service. This includes, but is not limited to:
      • Assist with 3rd party Waste Audit.
      • Assist with tasks associated with NPF grant for development of a Circular Reuse Economy.
      • Review and be familiar with Xanterra’s ISO 14001 EMS programs.
      • Assist with Sustainability internal inspections of all operations including Phantom Ranch for compliance with ISO 14001 programs. May be tasked with completing one Sustainability internal inspection and assist with developing and implementing corrective or preventative action plans to address any issues found.
      • Review, record and analyze utility data for both usage variances and costs
      • May be asked to assist with training as needed, including General Orientation and Our Softer Footprint training.
    • Assist with developing and implementing employee and guest environmental education with a variety of media.
    • Assist in data analysis to identify challenges and opportunities to improve environmental management.
    • Assist with updates of environmental programs and manuals including ISO 14001 program documentation.
    • Assist with project planning and implementation as requested.
    • Develop and maintain a positive and productive relationship with the Xanterra department directors and staff
    • Possible additional duties include:
      • Work closely with the Sustainability Director to ensure compliance with all NPS, state, and federal environmental statutes and regulations including: SPCC, asbestos, RCRA and hazardous waste, UST/AST, universal waste, CFC’s/Halons, lead-based paint, storm water management, hazardous materials storage, and fuel dispensing compliance. This includes providing training to staff of regulatory changes affecting operations.
      • Responsible for tracking and inspections as required under certain programs (e.g. RCRA, AST, SPCC, etc.). Maintains documentation on environmental permits, waste transportation manifests, and required environmental reporting.
      • File and analyze results of monthly reports of online guest comments as they relate to environmental issues.
      • Remain abreast of best available technologies and equipment advances that relate to Xanterra operations, in particular pertaining to reducing environmental impacts including those related to resource usage.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Student in a Bachelors’ (or Masters’) degree program in sustainability, environmental science or related field.
      • Classroom background in sustainable business is preferred.
    • Ability to positively interact with a wide variety of personalities.
    • Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
    • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office and/or similar applications.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the quality, food safety/sanitation, and timeliness of dishes served.

    Responsibilities

    • Catch and saddle designated mules, grain and groom mules while saddling.
    • Check equipment each day before saddling; report any defective equipment to Livery Management.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    In addition to fulfilling all Cook I job functions; the below items shall be additional responsibilities for the Expeditor position:

    • Organize food orders according to Server Ticket and menu specifications including portion control, temperature, entrée/sides and presentation.

    Responsibilities

    • To provide Grand Canyon National Park guests with a narrated, thematic experience that allows guests to make personal connections to the resources of the Park while safely transporting guests on a DOT regulated Tour Bus.
    • Use established Primary Park Themes to provide guests of Grand Canyon National Park and Grand Canyon Railway with a compelling link between the tangible and visible resources found along the Grand Canyon South Rim with the intangible and inherent meanings found within those resources in a way that allows the guest to make their own connections to the place.
    • Using effective interpretive techniques and a thematic narrative to assist the National Park Service in imparting the mission, vision, purpose, and goals of Grand Canyon National Park to our guests.
    • Provide knowledgeable, accurate, and resourced information on Xanterra South Rim services and facilities to passengers, guests and visitors as requested.
    • Responsible for a clean and neat appearance in the prescribed uniform.

    • Assists co-workers with tasks and shares commentary information.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to communicate in a clear and engaging manner.
    • Good reading, comprehension and organizational skills to research tour information and compile into an effective thematic narrative.
    • NAI-CIG certification desirable, or attend and successfully complete the course as it is made available through the Xanterra training department.
    • Must meet all U.S. Department of Transportation qualifications as mandated by FMCSR Sections 383 and 391 including, but not limited to:

    Responsibilities

    • Respond to fire calls in Grand Canyon Village, as well as for any fires throughout the South Rim area. Investigate and/or report the incident working within NPS protocols.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide support to front office and serve as primary backup to onboarding specialist.
    • Assist a large number of employees with general questions and concerns, routing to appropriate staff members as needed.; manage phone calls and face-to-face inquiries from current staff, visitors, and applicants.

    Qualifications

    • Professional business communication skills with the ability to impart and receive complex messages on a continual basis.
    • Prior Human Resource office experience and/or administrative assistant experience preferred.
    • Proven analytical skills with ability to research and properly resolve problems.
    • Ability to learn and train personnel in data entry, report generation and general use of CloudSuite HRIS.

    Qualifications

    • Be currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree program in Hospitality or related field.
    • Able to meet all physical requirements of the job, which include repetitive motion of all extremities and the back including continually kneeling, bending, and twisting; lifting up to 50 pounds; pushing up to 100 pounds; and long periods of standing/walking.
    • Ability to maintain high quality of work and high energy while taking more than 15,000 - 20,000 steps per work day at an elevation of 7,000 feet.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitor and evaluate the work performed by assigned staff in craft, ensuring quality timeliness, cost effectiveness and quality workmanship.
    • Complete repairs and preventive maintenance tasks as needed.
    • Know the status of all work orders as pertains to his/her craft.
    • Maintain schedule for assigned staff in craft.
    • Provide on going craft/trade training for assigned staff in craft.
    • Ensure that parts and materials are properly inventoried, specified, requisitioned and used with a minimum of waste by assigned craft personnel.
    • Ensure that assigned craft personnel maintain a clean and safe work area.
    • Give an accurate estimate when requested, of time and material needed for a given project.
    • Assist on capital projects as needed.
    • Maintain good communication with Maintenance Manager and Assistant Manager on all projects/work orders within craft.
    • Be available for after-hours call outs that are craft related.
    • Schedule a daily on-call after hour’s boiler technician.
    • Ensure that assigned craft personnel adhere to all prescribed Company, National Park Service and statutory/regulatory policies and procedures regarding worker safety, risk management, sustainability policies, HAZMAT, HAZCOM, confined space, lockout/tagout and vehicle operation.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum seven years’ experience in trade or a Journey certification in craft.
    • Prior supervisory experience minimum of one year.
    • Knowledge of all electrical equipment, controls and components common to high and low pressure boilers, oil and gas fired furnaces, and gas appliances.
    • Knowledge of all related test equipment to maintain the equipment at the highest efficiency level and reduce energy costs.
    • Ability to install and troubleshoot boiler and furnace combustion control devices, gas appliances, furnaces and gas-related equipment.
    • Ability to perform internal cleaning and inspections of both water and fire sides of boilers, which includes chemical treatment, acidizing of water side and soot removal of fire side. Upon approval of state inspector, properly reseal and return boilers to working condition.
    • Ability to remake refractory repairs, roll boiler tubes, change nozzles and filters, clean and adjust electrodes, clean and replace photo cells, and replace oil filters.
    • Knowledge of boiler plumbing, cutting and threading pipe, fittings and installation of all pumps, valves.
    • Knowledge of operation of steam traps, condensate tanks and other steam devices.
    • Ability to train subordinates in the craft based upon the subordinate’s level of expertise and learning ability.
    • Knowledge of uniform building codes pertinent to trade.
    • Good verbal communication skills with ability to give directions clearly.
    • Good organizational skills with ability to plan and complete work projects on time.
    • Possess or obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License within 90 days of start date and comply with the company Driver Safety Program.
