    Snow Removal

    Snow Removal Equipment Operator Winter 24/25

    Alta, Wyoming

    SUMMARY

    Keep parking area clear of snow and ice by moving it with a plow or tractor.  Use of snowblower and/or tractor to keep Base Area and Deck clear of snow and ice.  As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests.  A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1.  Provides accessible and safe parking/walking area by removing snow and ice, delivering and placing aggregate.

    2.  Keeps equipment running by checking and replenishing fluids, and requesting minor repairs.

    3.  Arrives to work on time by having adequate transportation for snowy conditions.

    4.  Maintains good relations with guests by being courteous and helpful when interacting with guests while plowing.

    5.  Keeps minimal downtime on equipment by becoming familiar with obstacles and operating in a safe manner.

    6.  Provides superior service to our customers (internal and external) by following Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with guests.

    7.  Responds to all guests and employees in a courteous and efficient manner.

    8.  Contributes to team effort by anticipating and accomplishing tasks required.

    9.  Performs other tasks as assigned.

    10.  Flexible working hours.  Some job sharing may be required.

    High School graduate.  Some mechanical experience.  One month equipment operating experience and one week on-the-job training.

    Ski Patrol

    Winter Dispatcher Winter 24/25

    Alta, Wyoming

    SUMMARY

    The Winter Dispatcher is responsible for the accurate logging, coordination, and dissemination of current information between the various Mountain Operations Department and other departments as required using telephone, Two-way radio and electronic communication.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    High School or GED diploma or equivalent number of years of experience.

     

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Minimum 1 year work experience at Grand Targhee Resort or strong understanding of the Mountain and surrounding areas.

    Previous dispatch experience preferred.

    CPR/First Aid certifications a plus.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    High level of communication with coworkers and resort guests. Greet customers in a congenial manner and answer a variety of questions about ski trails, weather and snow conditions, lift schedules and riding time, and general information about the resort and area. Read and understand manuals, safety signs, machinery control labels, warning placards and indicator panels as printed.

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    Requires efficient problem-solving skills. Receives instruction/advice from the Director of Ski Patrol for daily tasks. Needs to take the initiative and go out in the field and perform tasks. High level of independence but keeps the Director of Ski Patrol informed at all times.

    Food & Beverage

    Cook II

    Alta, Wyoming

    SUMMARY 

    Acts as lead in the kitchen. Ensures that crew follows policies and procedures. Assists with training, scheduling, and providing lunch breaks. Must have at least 4 years of experience in a restaurant kitchen. Professionally Cook and create all dishes on the menu. In a timely manner prepare food that will be served to resort guests. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests. A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Including the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

    1. Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices. 
    2. Follow guidelines set forth and recipes to create dishes. 
    3. Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently. 
    4. Portion, arrange and garnish food so it can be served to resort guests. 
    5. Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils. 
    6. Cook II must be able to work various stations on the line.

    Food and Beverage

    Cook III Winter 2024/25

    SUMMARY

    The Lead Line Cook is instrumental in supporting/develop and fulfills the short/long term goals for the F&B Department.  The Lead Line Cook works with the F&B leadership team to insure the highest quality possible products, professional working conditions & environment, employee performance, safety and sanitation from all F&B operations.  A key part of every employee’s job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest/internal/external at every opportunity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned including steward responsibilities when needed.

    1. Read, understand and abide by employee handbook, resort policies, department procedures and state & federal healthy & safety regulations.
    2. Maintain a positive work environment by working and communicating in a courteous and professional manner with all guests, co-workers and vendors.
    3. Leads by example, adhere to Grand Targhee Food and Beverage Standards.
    4. Maintain awareness of all safety & security procedures relevant to the department & resort.  Ensure department members are familiar with and adhere to them as well.
    5. Supports and promotes our Sustainability Charter through out the property.
    6. Maintain awareness of resort occupancy levels, reservations, group business and special requests and functions and their potential affect on department operations.
    7. Supervise all food, cleaning, requisitions, planning, preparation & execution in absence of the Chef.
    8. Responsible to ensure proper maintenance/cleanliness of equipment.  Reports to Chef any equipment that is not up to standards.
    9. Act at kitchen MOD in the absence of Chef.
    10. Assist in training FOH staff in product ingredients and preparation.
    11. Works with Executive/Sous Chef/Executive Chef in menu development.
    12. Assists with inventory counts when required.
    Human Resources

    Human Resources (HR) & Employee Housing Coordinator

    $21.00 - $23.00 / hour

In this role, you'll greet and assist visitors and callers, answer their questions, and offer valuable information. You'll also support our team with recruiting, uniform distribution, training, and organizing employee celebrations.

    Working closely with the Employee Housing Manager, you'll play a crucial role in coordinating Employee Housing activities, from move-ins and move-outs to assisting with payroll deductions, inspections, and minor maintenance. Your prompt and efficient assistance to staff will make a significant impact.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

    Human Resources: 

    1. Promptly greet and assist all employees, applicants and others coming into Human Resources. 
    2. Provide timely responses to phone calls, voicemails, and emails.   
    3. Assist in onboarding new and returning employees in accordance with hiring policies.   
    4. Assist the HR team in collaborating with Supervisors to ensure completion of all paperwork related to new hires, rehires, reclassifications, and separations. 
    5. Input and assist with maintenance of HRIS information. 
    6. Provide back-up support to the HR Office Manager. 
    7. Assist with filing of employee paperwork and maintenance of employee files. 
    8. Assist with employment verifications, unemployment responses, and other employment/employee related inquiries. 
    9. Assist with the organization, distribution, tracking and inventorying of employee uniforms as needed. 
    10. Assist with creating and organizing company employee celebrations/activities/events as needed. 
    11. Assist applicants and provide support for recruiting efforts as needed.   
    12. Maintain uncompromising integrity of confidential information. 
    13. Use initiative to independently perform recurring office work. 
    14. May assist in other departments as needed and may perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. 

    Employee Housing: 

    1. Assist with administrative operations in regard to housing and oversee in the absence of the Employee Housing Manager. 
      1. Maintain accurate housing records, recording employee residence location and move in/out date information. 
      2. Ensure all leases and related documents are signed prior to move-in. 
      3. Inform unit residents/roommates of new arrivals in a timely fashion. 
      4. Assist Housing Manager with coordinating all room assignments and changes and communicating/resolving problems in accordance with established procedures. 
      5. Check employees in & out of housing. Inspect rooms during checkout and appropriately deduct for missing/broken items, failure to clean, etc. 
      6. Respond to all maintenance requests by residents, performing minor maintenance as appropriate and keeping residents informed of status (pending/fixed/etc.). 
      7. Report maintenance needs beyond personal skill level to appropriate maintenance contacts and contractors. Ensure that repairs are completed in a timely manner. 
      8. Maintain accurate inventories of furnishings, kitchen supplies and other company property in each unit, replacing items when needed. 
      9. Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of employee housing facilities.
      10. When needed, clean or arrange for cleaning of employee housing and complete basic maintenance. 
      11. Conduct Monthly Inspections. 
    2. Maintain positive employee relations while completing job responsibilities. 
    3. Maintain adequate inventory of supplies; Distribute, track and ensure retrieval of items that are loaned out.
    4. Communicate and enforce housing Emergency Procedures for all residents and handle emergency phone calls as necessary. 
    5. Assists in other departments as needed. 
    6. All other duties as assigned. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY: 

    1. Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests at all times. 
    2. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay. 
    3. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor. 
    4. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort’s Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals. 
    5. Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others. 
    6. Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.

Previous experience managing employee housing or student housing strongly preferred. Experience performing basic maintenance of living spaces preferred. 

    WORK SCHEDULE    

    Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on the business levels. 

    Lift Operations Senior Lead

    Alta, Wyoming

    Operates lifts safely and efficiently by assisting guests to use them, performing inspections, safety checks and maintaining loading/unloading areas before opening and throughout the operating day. Ensures guests are seated correctly and safely; slow and stop the lift as needed. Load and unload mountain bikes from lift carriers safely. Scan tickets and passes to verify that all guests have a valid ticket or pass. Interact with guests to provide exceptional guest service and efficient, safe lift riding. A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity. 

    Vehicle Maintenance

    Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic

    Alta, Wyoming

    Grand Targhee Resort seeks a hands-on Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. You will assist in servicing and repairing heavy equipment, snowcats, trucks, snowmobiles, small engines, and other equipment. Experience in diesel, gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems required. Our fleet of snowcat are on a three-year rotation and our NEW Facility allows you to perform your duties in a work class environment.  Pay is dependent upon on experience.

    •  Assist with major repairs of equipment.
    •  Perform routine services of equipment (oil changes, grease machines etc.

    •  Maintain a safe and clean work area by following company safety policies and procedures.
    •  Contributes to team effort and shop morale by demonstrating a positive and cooperative attitude and performing duties as assigned.
    •  Maintain shop tools and equipment through proper organization.
    •  Improve technical knowledge by attending seminars and training courses.
    •  Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
