    Accounting

    Controller

    Alta, Wyoming

    Responsible for the accounting and financial operations of the company, to include the production of weekly, monthly and annual financial reports, maintenance of accounting records and development of policies and procedures to facilitate all accounting related functions. Insures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Oversees the flow of all financial information from the initial transaction through completed financial statements. Reports to the Director of Finance.  A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Grand Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

    Food & Beverage

    Cook II

    Alta, Wyoming

    SUMMARY 

    Acts as lead in the kitchen. Ensures that crew follows policies and procedures. Assists with training, scheduling, and providing lunch breaks. Must have at least 4 years of experience in a restaurant kitchen. Professionally Cook and create all dishes on the menu. In a timely manner prepare food that will be served to resort guests. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests. A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Including the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

    1. Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices. 
    2. Follow guidelines set forth and recipes to create dishes. 
    3. Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently. 
    4. Portion, arrange and garnish food so it can be served to resort guests. 
    5. Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils. 
    6. Cook II must be able to work various stations on the line.

    Food and Beverage

    Cook III Winter 2024/25

    Alta, Wyoming

    SUMMARY

    The Lead Line Cook is instrumental in supporting/develop and fulfills the short/long term goals for the F&B Department.  The Lead Line Cook works with the F&B leadership team to insure the highest quality possible products, professional working conditions & environment, employee performance, safety and sanitation from all F&B operations.  A key part of every employee’s job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest/internal/external at every opportunity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned including steward responsibilities when needed.

    1. Read, understand and abide by employee handbook, resort policies, department procedures and state & federal healthy & safety regulations.
    2. Maintain a positive work environment by working and communicating in a courteous and professional manner with all guests, co-workers and vendors.
    3. Leads by example, adhere to Grand Targhee Food and Beverage Standards.
    4. Maintain awareness of all safety & security procedures relevant to the department & resort.  Ensure department members are familiar with and adhere to them as well.
    5. Supports and promotes our Sustainability Charter through out the property.
    6. Maintain awareness of resort occupancy levels, reservations, group business and special requests and functions and their potential affect on department operations.
    7. Supervise all food, cleaning, requisitions, planning, preparation & execution in absence of the Chef.
    8. Responsible to ensure proper maintenance/cleanliness of equipment.  Reports to Chef any equipment that is not up to standards.
    9. Act at kitchen MOD in the absence of Chef.
    10. Assist in training FOH staff in product ingredients and preparation.
    11. Works with Executive/Sous Chef/Executive Chef in menu development.
    12. Assists with inventory counts when required.
    Finance

    Director of Finance

    Responsible for directing and overseeing all fiscal functions of the Resort in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with appropriate financial management techniques and practices. Provide strategic leadership for the Resort by working with the Grand Targhee Resort Senior Staff to establish goals, strategies, plans and policies.   A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

    Lodging

    Houseperson Winter 2024/2025

    Alta, Wyoming

    SUMMARY

    Responsible to empty trash, haul clean and dirty linens, and assist the housekeepers and laundry staff in their day to day duties.  A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1.  Clean walkways and deck areas.
    2.  Carry garbage and linens to and from lodges.
    3.  Use proper care in handling and operating equipment.
    4.  Help maintain inventory of housekeeping items and inform lead houseman of needed supplies.
    5.  Assist housekeepers and other housemen to ensure that all lodging rooms and public areas will be available for guests to check in at 4:00 p.m.
    6.  Assist housekeepers with heavier housekeeping tasks.
    7.  Keep housekeeping vehicle clean at all times.
    8.  Assist in any bellman duties lodging may need.
    9.  Must adhere to safety standards by wearing protective gloves and backbrace when required.
    10.  Flexible working hours.  Some job sharing may be required.
    11.  Stock closets after lunch and before going home.
    12. Stocking and removing pool towels.
    13. Putting linen order away.
    14. Put cleaning caddy’s and rag bags out.
    15. Pull cart and vacuums out.
    16. Check vacuum bags.
    Ski School

    Instructor Assistant

    Alta, Wyoming

    Description

    Are you a high school student with dreams of being a Ski or Snowboard Instructor? Apply now to join Grand Targhee’s new program giving high school students the opportunity to learn firsthand how to teach others winter sports. Under the tutelage of experienced industry professionals, you will learn and work with elementary aged students to help foster a love for Skiing and Snowboarding.     SUMMARY

    Grand Targhee’s Instructor Assistant program allows for local high school students to work and learn alongside experienced ski and snowboarding instructors. Upon commitment, Instructors in Training will perform tasks including but not limited to: Aiding in the facilitation of skills in lessons, riding the lift with younger students, checking in clients at lineup, double checking for waivers at lineup, and supervising young students in our Powder Scouts and lunch break area. 
    Facilities

    Lead Snow Shoveler

    Alta, Wyoming

    SUMMARY

    Clear snow from walkways, entrances and common areas.  Occasionally perform rooftop snow removal.  Assist with parking guests and employees in assigned spaces.     Mountain Sports School

    Mountain Sports School Sales Staff (Full and Part-Time Seasonal) Winter 2024/2025

    Alta, Wyoming

    SUMMARY

    Assist guests in planning and purchasing Ski & Snowboard School lessons and programs in an effort to ensure an enhanced experience at Grand Targhee Resort.  A key part of every person's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Actively promotes and sells Ski & Snowboard School and resort services.

    2. Manages reservations, product information, and customer data in the computer system and communicates with the Director and Supervisors regarding daily sales volume and lesson bookings.

    3. Manages daily cash flow and accounting duties in accordance with cashiering policies established by the resort.

    4. Manages the general maintenance, overall cleanliness and neatness of the sales area.

    5. Assists the Director in the daily input of Ski & Snowboard School payroll.

    6. Provides feedback regarding sales patterns, the effectiveness of product offerings and guest feedback.

    7. Assists the Director with administrative duties as requested.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Mountain Sports School

    Mountain Sports School Youth Program Supervisor

    Alta, Wyoming

    SUMMARY

    The Mountain Sports Youth Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all youth lesson programs for all disciplines including alpine, snowboard and Nordic, ensuring the success and proper execution of the Mountain Sports School products and offerings. It is the supervisor’s responsibility to provide guests with a high standard of instruction, safety, and customer service.
     
    This role involves managing instructors, coordinating lesson schedules, and maintaining a positive and engaging environment for both students and staff.
     
    While this role is specifically designed to oversee the youth programs, it is expected that Supervisors have working knowledge of all Mountain Sports School programs and can operate as a general Supervisor over other programs when needed.
     
    The Mountain Sports School Supervisors collaborate with Mountain Sports School management and Director and act as a Targhee ambassador to guests and role model to staff around the resort. 
     
    As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee's job to meet guest’s expectations.

     

    GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    1. Understands and operates consistent with Grand Targhee Resort’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
    2. Actively promote resort, the school and maintain positive guest relations at all times. In general, maintain and enhance the resorts’ guest focused culture.
    3. Manage Youth instructional staff. Hire, motivate, evaluate, direct, monitor and schedule staff to ensure adequate guidance & otherwise direct personnel resources to accomplish goals and objectives of our organization.
    4. Assure that staff receives training, support, guidance, feedback and resources necessary to execute their roles. Be actively involved in staff training.
    5. Monitor and evaluate and support department operations and activities to ensure successful execution of the areas of responsibility.
    6. Maintain open communications with resort personnel and with staff as well as assist in every way possible toward a cooperative and successful operation of department and resort.
    7. Actively support and engage guests and staff in promoting safe practices.
    8. Maintain work schedules in compliance with regulations and authorities that have jurisdiction and to manage responsibilities in compliance with resort safety policies.

     

    1. Maintain current status on legal issues and technological advances which impact industry as well as maintain awareness of scope and progress of competition.
    2. Ability to delegate responsibility, Collaborate, mentor and lead direct reports, to achieve goals and objectives.
    3. Understanding of corporate and resort specific policies and procedures.
    4. Ability to perform all duties of an instructor to enhance the guest’s experience and mentor staff.
    Working with clients will be on an as approved basis by the Director. Teaching during peak holiday timeframes is strongly discouraged. Working with clients for additional work hours, wages, or gratuities should only happen on scheduled days off or when differed managerial duties don’t adversely affect other supervisors or managers and their duties. Teaching lessons to alleviate staffing shortages and requested lessons on the supervisor’s day off are acceptable examples of managerial teaching assignments.
    Facilities

    Parking/Recycling Attendant (Full & Part-time) Winter 2024/2025

    Alta, Wyoming

    SUMMARY

    Assist guests and employees with parking efficiently.  Greet guests coming to Grand Targhee Resort.  Collect, sort and store recycling and trash in specific public areas.  A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Maintain, help organize and keep order in all parking lots.  Assist in directing guests and employees to appropriate parking locations.
    2. Collect solid materials from recycle and trash containers in resort common areas as directed.
    3. Separate and store recycle materials as directed.
    4. Exhibit a professional, courteous and friendly attitude at all times.
    5. Assist with other duties as required.
    6. Flexible working hours.  Some job sharing required.
    Housekeeping

    Public Area Attendant Winter 2024/2025

    Alta, Wyoming

    Summary

    Clean public areas of the resort, guest check in, conference room, public bathrooms etc. Responsible to maintain a level of cleanliness in the housekeeping area and wash, dry and fold all linens in the laundry room. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests. A key part of every employee’s job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Clean and sanitize public areas using established practice and procedure.
    2. Wash, dry and fold all linens in the laundry room. Launder cleaning rags etc..
    3. Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean recycling and trash containers.
    4. Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds.
    5. This is not an exhaustive list of duties others may be added as necessary.
    6. Check all public trash bins.

    RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY

    1. Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and resort guests at all times.
    2. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
    3. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
    4. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
    5. Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
    6. Drive in accordance with the law and resort policies.

     

    F&B

    Receiving Clerk

    Alta, Wyoming

    SUMMARY

    The Receiving Clerk is instrumental in helping develop and fulfill the short-term as well as long range goals for the F&B Department.  The Receiving Clerk works with the F&B Director/Chefs to insure the highest quality possible products, professional working conditions & environment, employee performance, safety and sanitation for all F&B operations.  The above goals will be accomplished by the clerk’s proper implementation, promotion & adherence to service standards for our operation through continual evaluation of the products served.  This position will instill a strong atmosphere of success in order to promote self motivation and will address discrepancies when observed.  In addition, the clerk will develop guidelines and goals within the structure of the budget, achieving results through the practice of prudent leadership, management techniques and cost controlling measures.  A key part of every employee’s job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Responsible for all F&B ordering, receiving (storage and real estate), distribution, control, security, rotation of supplies.

    2. Verify quality and accuracy of ordered supplies, return, and notify any discrepancies within 24 hours to vendor.

    3. Establish pars of all supplies ordered to ensure products are on hand when needed.

    4. Training and supervision of 1 seasonal associate.

    5. Responsible to ensure proper maintenance of equipment (coolers, freezers, hand truck, scale). 

    6. Ensure all inventories, schedules and time sensitive needs/reports are supplied to those requesting on a timely basis.

    7. Receiving, logging and distribution of UPS, DHL, FedEx, etc. daily.

    8. Conducts product & supply inventories as required.

    9. Solicit and schedule vendors to provide supplies/equipment for special events.

    10. Stock and maintain vending machines.

    11. Read, understand and abide by employee handbook, resort policies, department procedures and state & federal healthy & safety regulations.

    12. Maintain a positive work environment by managing, working and communicating in a courteous and professional manner with all guests, co-workers and vendors.

    13. Attend required meetings and training classes.

    14. Lead by example, fostering departmental teamwork and collaboration.

    15. Maintain awareness of all safety, sanitation & security procedures relevant to the department & resort.

    Sous Chef

    This position assists the F&B Culinary Team to insure the highest quality possible products, professional working conditions & environment, employee performance, safety and sanitation.  Assists in supervising staff by making sure that policies and procedures are followed.  Maintains a high quality operation by monitoring employees' job productivity and participates in training and scheduling.  As a guest focused organization, a crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests.  A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity. 

    Vehicle Maintenance

    Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic

    Alta, Wyoming

    Grand Targhee Resort seeks a hands-on Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. You will assist in servicing and repairing heavy equipment, snowcats, trucks, snowmobiles, small engines, and other equipment. Experience in diesel, gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems required. Our fleet of snowcat are on a three-year rotation and our NEW Facility allows you to perform your duties in a work class environment.  Pay is dependent upon on experience.

    SUMMARY

    Perform basic repairs and maintenance of equipment, including snow cats, snow machines, ATV’s, vehicles, heavy equipment and small engines.

    •  Perform basic maintenance and repair of equipment by following instructions of shop supervisor.
    •  Assist with major repairs of equipment.
    •  Perform routine services of equipment (oil changes, grease machines etc.
    •  Maintain service records for machines services and repairs.
    •  Maintain a safe and clean work area by following company safety policies and procedures.
    •  Contributes to team effort and shop morale by demonstrating a positive and cooperative attitude and performing duties as assigned.
    •  Maintain shop tools and equipment through proper organization.
    •  Improve technical knowledge by attending seminars and training courses.
    •  Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
