Food Pack Staff Member

Hatch River Expeditions is looking for a new team member to work in our commissary in Marble Canyon, Arizona. Hatch is a family-owned and operated business that has been providing commercial river rafting trips since 1929. Today, we launch about 60 commercially guided trips per year, each of which needs to be outfitted with food and supplies. It is the Food Pack Staff Member’s responsibility is to assist with this process and complete other related tasks as necessary. As Marble Canyon is located in a remote section of Northern Arizona, having your own transportation is highly recommended. The nearest town is Page Arizona located 47 miles away.

We are located near many National Parks. With this being said, if you love the outdoors and have an adventurous spirit this opportunity may be right for you.

Responsibilities:

During River Season (May - September)

• Pack dry goods for multi-day river trips

• Make ice for river trips

• Receive and check in food deliveries 

• Perform miscellaneous prep work as needed

• Shuttle guests to and from Lee’s Ferry and/or local airstrip as needed

• Assist in warehouse as needed

• Clean and organize the work area 

Winter Work (October-December)

• Assist with cleaning, maintenance, and repair of equipment and gear

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be organized and attentive to detail

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs on a regular basis with occasional heavier lifting

• Be able to exert well paced mobility up to 8 hours including standing, pushing, pulling and climbing a ladder.

• Have a valid drivers's license

• Must obtain a Back Country food managers certificate

• Excellent communication skills

• Proficient in receiving goods and comprehending invoice documents

• Superior customer service skills

• Proficient in time management 

• Positive energetic attitude

The term of Employment: Full-time (30 to 40 hrs/wk), may- September winter work optional.
Compensation: $21.06 per hour
Additional Benefits: Housing and Utilities. Housing is within walking distance of the work site. Internet is available at the warehouse. Yes, we have Starlink.
