- Operate Zodiac boats on guided tours, ensuring safety and enjoyment for guests
- Share engaging stories and insights about the region's wildlife, history, and geography
- Maintain boat equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Assist with guest boarding and provide clear instructions before departure
- Offer exceptional customer service and address guest questions or concerns
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned
- Strong boating skills and knowledge of water safety
- At least one year of guiding experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively and engage with guests
- Comfortable navigating Alaska's coastal waters and variable weather conditions
- Previous guiding or hospitality experience is a plus
- Must have current CPR/First Aid certification
- Must be at least 25 years of age with a valid driver's license
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (40lbs) unassisted
- Be dexterous enough to get in and out of Zodiac's without assistance
- Be able to maneuver Zodiac's around the docks in moving water
- Requires hearing ability to operate the Zodiac's on the water
- Work outside in any weather conditions
- Be able to work extra shifts upon request
- Guiding tours in a safe and time efficient manner. Recognizing potentially dangerous situations and addressing them in accordance with established guidelines
- Engaging with guests throughout the tour operation and providing informative and entertaining commentary
- Provides safety briefing prior to the start of tour and ensures guest comfort
- Assists in daily opening and closing procedures of the tour site
- Hangs, cleans and puts away gear between and after tours
- Restocks and sells retail items and photo packages
- General site cleaning and maintenance
- Completes and turns in incident and accident reports, when necessary, immediately following the incident
- Communicates with co-guide and base operations through radio contact throughout the tour
- Learns about the natural environment, history of the area and shares knowledge with guests
- Treats guests in a manner that makes them feel respected, valued and cared for
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned
- At least 18 years of age, with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- At least two years of customer service experience. Preferably in the hospitality industry
- At least one year of guiding experience preferred
- Ability to work extended hours on an established schedule
- Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays
- Self-motivated, positive attitude and professional appearance
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Reliable and strong public speaking skills (additional languages a plus)
- Ability to meet guests’ needs in a helpful and courteous manner
- First Aid certified preferred
- Photography skills helpful
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (40lbs) unassisted
- Be dexterous enough to get in and out of karts without assistance
- Be able to maneuver karts around on rocky terrain
- Requires hearing ability to operate around pressure washer and kart engines
- Work outside in any weather conditions
- Be able to work extra shifts upon request

Guide visitors through the Alaskan rainforest in a specially designed off-road vehicle. Guides are responsible for the safety and well-being of our guests, while providing informative commentary regarding the Alaskan landscape and surrounding area in a professional and energetic manner.
