    We are located on Highway 170 where the road bends to meet the Rio Grande which is 17 miles southwest of the junction of Highways 118/170 at Terlingua, Texas.  The resort is tucked between Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. 

    To put it in perspective, we are approx. 200 miles to the closest Walmart in Fort Stockton, and 95 miles to the closest McDonalds or stop light in Alpine!  We are here because we love the remoteness.  No traffic, no big-city lights, creates an environment of peace and quiet and unsurpassed stargazing!

    While a vehicle is not required at the resort with housing close to the facilities, a vehicle is useful for major shopping or outing trips to Presidio, located 55 miles southwest of the resort, or Alpine, located 95 miles north of the resort. 

    For Fun

    The Big Bend region is full of adventure and places to explore! Whether you want to hike the national and state park or hike right out your front door on the resort's 27,000 acres! We also have river access so you can kayak, paddleboard or just go swimming whenever you like! Like mountain biking? We have hundreds of miles of trails to explore. Like to play music? The eclectic town down the road of "Terlingua" has some restaurants and bars that feature open mic nights for local musicians! 

    There are more restaurants and shopping opportunities as close as 12 miles away.  A full-day trip could take in the Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park, Fort Davis, and its historical park and town; the McDonald Observatory; art, shopping, and the Sul Ross State University in Alpine; the Marfa Lights and the town of Marfa; and much more!

    The essential duties and responsibilities for this position are:

    • Clearing all used tableware and napkins from tables to tubs in bus station. Wipe table, chairs, and clear debris and crumbs from floor areas surrounding table. 
    • Resets the tables in accordance with established standards in order to seat new customers as quickly as possible.  Remove full tubs from bus stations to dishwashing area for cleaning, and maintain a clean, well-stocked and orderly bus station at all times in order to improve efficiency and productivity. 
    • Retrieve cleaned dishes, glassware and utensils from the dish room and distribute to each service station in order to keep a ready supply available for restaurant use. 
    • Sweep restaurant floors throughout shift to maintain a clean, presentable and attractive restaurant.  Vacuum carpeting and mop hard floors at the end of each shift. 
    • Retrieve clean linens from laundry department at beginning of shift and during shift when necessary, and folding as specified by established standards.  Stocking correct par levels in the service stations.  Deliver bundles of soiled linen to laundry room at end of each shift. 
    • Retrieve items from stockroom, ensuring requisition is complete and correct.  Stocking supplies in proper places, rotating stock at all times. 
    • Assist wait staff by refilling customer’s beverages and accommodating requests for additional condiments, food items or clean/fresh tableware. 
    • Keep ice stations filled at all times by carrying buckets of ice from the main ice machine and pouring into individual ice stations. 
      Keep a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times. 
    • Checks all restrooms periodically, alerting the Housekeeping Department if they are not clean or in need of supplies.

    • Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
    • Greet the guest in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions for guest awareness.
    • Record the details of the order from the guest, repeating the order to the guest to check for accuracy.
    • Input the order into the point of sale computer to inform the kitchen of the particulars in the order being placed.
    • When complete, retrieve order up to 30lbs. from the kitchen, confirm its accuracy, lift and deliver to guest along with appropriate condiments. Abide by State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
    • Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
    • Market and serve upon request any dessert items or specialty coffees.
    • Present the check to guest promptly.
    • Regular Attendance in conformation with standards, which may be established by
      Lajitas Golf Resort from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

    Support Functions:

    • Assist with the bussing help in clearing and resetting the tables.
    • Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking side stands.

    • Work with the Housekeeping Supervisor and Assistant to check all vacant rooms each day to ensure cleanliness standards are being met, i.e., the last check for “First Impression”- drapes/blinds, beds & skirts, chairs, lamps, towels, toiletries, carpet/floor, and halls are clear of equipment and trash.
    • Maintain accurate/ organized records of discrepancies found in guest rooms in order to use for training purposes.
    • Ensure that all housekeeping closets are stocked with linen and supplies prior to leaving for the day.
    • Assist in training new housekeepers
    • Assist staff in cleaning and maintaining the hotel when needed
    • Deliver excellent Guest and Member experience while monitoring housekeeping standards.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in housekeeping management with a focus on quality, productivity, guest satisfaction, team member satisfaction, and profitability.

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    • Bilingual, Spanish speaking required.
    • 4 years of prior experience in a leadership role with at least two years managing hourly team members
    • Position imposes some physical demands. Movement is required throughout the resort.
    • 70% of the time is spent on the floor and around the resort supervising the team’s performance
    • The position also requires standing for periods. Must be able to lift or carry objects up to 50 lbs.

    SUMMARY: This position is responsible for executing and performing all property maintenance-related duties at the Maverick Ranch RV Park. This position requires the ability to perform a variety of routine and skilled maintenance, construction, custodial, landscaping, janitorial, and repair activities involving campground buildings, grounds, and equipment. This position works a varied schedule, which may include weekends and holidays.

    Growth potential for this position to include a supervisorial role with an onsite RV spot.

    Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Specific areas of responsibility including, but not limited to)

    • Comply with all RV Park operating policies & procedures.
    • When necessary, escort guests to their designated site and assist with any questions. 
    • Welcome all guests in a friendly manner and assist with any questions or concerns during their stay at the RV Park. Help to ensure that all guests have an enjoyable experience while adhering to the park rules.
    • Stay current on shows, promotions, and future events within the resort and local area.  
    • Attend meetings and training as requested.
    • Perform various landscaping duties including but not limited to pruning, felling trees, hydroseeding, planting and watering trees, trimming grass, raking, dirt work, building retaining walls and tent pads, repairing/replacing fencing, improving drainages, installing signs, etc.
    • Perform various electrical and plumbing repairs.
    • Keep maintenance logs for all repairs/replacements required. 
    • Maintain Pool, Spa, and outside area. 
    • Keep Clubhouse clean.
    • Perform custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and stocking restrooms and shower facilities, cleaning fire rings and campsites, litter pick-up, and general upkeep of the campgrounds
    • Keep all restrooms clean on property.

    Qualifications:   

    • Possess high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
    • Two (2) years prior maintenance experience or equivalent educational, training and work experience preferred.

    • Have the ability to professionally write reports and correspondence.

    • Responsible for washing, prepping, and staging of carts
    • Picking and setting practice balls on the driving range
    • Interacting with the guests by helping them unload and load golf clubs

    We are located on Highway 170 where the road bends to meet the Rio Grande which is 17 miles southwest of the junction of Highways 118/170 at Terlingua, Texas.  The resort is tucked between Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. 

    To put it in perspective, we are approx. 200 miles to the closest Wal-Mart in Fort Stockton, and 95 miles to the closest McDonalds or stop light in Alpine!  We are here because we love remoteness.  No traffic, no big-city lights, creates an environment of peace and quiet and unsurpassed stargazing!

    While a vehicle is not required at the resort with housing close to the facilities, a vehicle is useful for major shopping or outing trips to Presidio, located 55 miles southwest of the resort, or Alpine, located 95 miles north of the resort.

    The Big Bend region is full of adventure and places to explore! Whether you want to hike the national and state park, or hike right out your front door on the resort's 27,000 acres!
