Kayak Guide

Maine State Sea Kayak is focused on promoting and encouraging people to experience nature. In order to achieve this goal each staff member needs to have a strong knowledge of the areas we paddle to share with our guests. That knowledge should include proper routes to take, etiquette on the water and beaches we are allowed to use, the natural history of the area and information of the wildlife that inhabit the area.

All interactions between staff and guests should be professional and centered on providing the best possible experience for each and every guest. The focus of the Registered Maine Guide is to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests while kayaking.

The guide will determine the best route to take based on tide and weather conditions. The guide will act in a professional manner while interacting with all guests and will provide information of MDI including but not limited to the local history, geography, wildlife and activities offered on the island.
