About New England Outdoor Center
We are currently looking to hire for our 2024 season. Positions include Registered Mine Guide, Raft Guide, Housekeeping, Grounds and Maintenance, Front Desk, Office, Server, Pizza Maker and so many more.
NEOC has three locations that within close radius to each other. One is our resort campus NEOC | Twin Pines | River Drivers Restaurant, one is our Knife Edge Brewing and Adventure Center, and the other is our Campground - the Penobscot Outdoor Center. Positions listed below include river guides for whitewater rafting, office and reservations staff, front desk staff, housekeeping kitchen help, servers, etc... We are located in the heart of Maine, just 8 miles from Baxter State Park and Maine's highest mountain - Katahdin. Our facilities are in an amazing location which makes it easy to paddle, fish and hike on days off in the Great North Woods. Our award-winning River Driver's Restaurant is located at our resort on Millinocket Lake, and in 2014 we were voted "Best Adventure Resort in New England by Yankee Magazine" a title we were honored to receive. Ideal Candidate
While there are a lot of positions to fill at our company, all of them require a love for the outdoors and a passion for sharing it with our guests. We pride ourselves on having a staff that works as a team. With many moving parts to our company, it is important to be flexible and supportive of other staff members.
Room and Board
The 2023 summer cost of rent at our campground was $75. Cost for 2024 summer has not been set, but likely will be similar. This is to cover the cost of using the amenities at the campground.
Housing at the campground is only available in summer months.

25% discount our store (exceptions apply), 25% discount on restaurant items (50% discount at the pizzeria when working), staff beers and lodging and rafting trips.
Getting Here and Getting Around
Having a personal vehicle is recommended as there is very limited public transportation. However, if you do not have a vehicle of your own usually we can find a way to assist you into getting where you need to go.
For Fun
If you are an outdoor enthusiast Millinocket has many options for you. White water rafting on the Penobscot River will not disappoint you with the continuous adrenaline rush of class II-V rapids. Hiking and mountain biking trails have been built right on property along with access to canoes, kayaks and SUP for a relaxing lake paddle. Baxter State Park is just a couple miles away and views of Katahdin (the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail) can be seen from any of out locations.
