    Boat Dock Attendant

    The Boat Dock Attendant provides all guests with exceptional customer service whilst maintaining the dock, all water activity equipment and its surrounding areas. Responsible for assisting guests with rentals, equipment, paperwork and payment. Ensure guests are assisted in and out of canoes and that they are aware of any and all safety concerns. 

    Applicant must be willing to work outdoors, and be a true people person.

    Hourly plus tip.

    Responsibilities

    • Direct boat traffic on the dock.
    • Greet all guests in a pleasant and helpful manner.
    • Answer questions from customers about water activities.
    • Instruct guests in safe boating operations.
    • Prepare all guests with proper life jackets and equipment.
    • Assist guests with waiver forms.
    • Assist all guests entering water craft.
    • Perform basic POS functions and handle transactions.
    • Meet all returning boats and guests as they arrive at the dock.
    • Clean all boats upon their return.
    • Ensure all boats are properly secured at all times.
    • Be knowledgeable about the Ranch and its offerings.
    • Remain calm and positive at all times.
    • Be aware and attentive to customers’ needs, both on and off the water.
    • Keep the dock and boathouse clean at all times.
    • Assist with opening and closing procedures dependent on scheduled shift.
    • Adhere to company dress code while on duty.
    • Appropriate non slip footwear must be worn at all times. No flip flops or open toed shoes will be permitted.
    • Keep management apprised of any units that are in need of repairs and/or parts.
    • Must be willing and able to work outdoors all day.
    • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
    • Perform physical activities such as lifting up to 50lbs, stooping, walking and standing for extended periods of time.

    Education and Experience

    • High School Diploma or equivalent GED or working towards.
    • 18 years or older.

    Overview

    Piney River Ranch is recruiting for a new Assistant General Manager to support our operations on a year- round basis. Our intention is that the new Assistant General Manager will successfully grow in the position over a twoyear period and then be part of the succession plan to become the new General Manager of Piney River Ranch.

    The Assistant General Manager (AGM) works directly with the General Manager (GM) and the Ranch Team to learn and understand all the operations of Piney River Ranch (PRR). The AGM is directly responsible for the kitchen and restaurant staff and operations, the lakefront operations, and the front gate. The AGM will also assist restaurant personnel dedicated to weddings and special events.

    Responsibilities

    Management responsibility for the kitchen and restaurant operations, including hiring and performance management, customer service for our guests, and revenue and profit performance.

    Manage all lakefront operations, which include hiring, performance management, and guest-owned equipment procedures.

    Management responsibility for the Front Gate and orderly guest check-in and parking. The AGM will be responsible for ranch operations while the GM is not there, in conjunction with the Operations Manager.

    The AGM is personally responsible for learning and understanding all PRR operations and financial performance to become the next GM of PRR. This is anticipated to take two years over the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

    Complete Beer, liquor, and Sysco orders weekly, including receiving physical orders and quality control.

    Assist the General Manager in identifying, developing, implementing, and evaluating growth potential for Lodging, event/wedding, and non-event-related revenue.

    Monitor activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws and resolve problems.

    Promote the Ranch through advertising, social media, trade shows, conferences, networking events, and concierge meet-and-greets.

    Assist with processing employment applications for all hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, and safety.  

    Monitor and manage staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to the Ranch’s policies and procedures.

    Monitor and manage food, retail, and equipment inventories.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent

    Demonstrated history of delivering exceptional guest experiences and high satisfaction levels

    Proven ability to grow, manage, and develop teams and retain talent

    Prior experience in leadership and recreational management, specifically in Food & Beverage, Lodging, and Special Events in a fast-paced environment

    Revenue, Cost, and P&L experience

    Must be highly organized, multi-task, detail-oriented, and able to work shifts at short notice and in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment. Flexible and willing to fill in various positions when needed, work long and sometimes erratic hours

    Possess strong leadership, communication, and team management skills

    CPR Certified / Tips Certified / Food Manager Certification

    Physical Requirements  

    Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment

    Capable of moderate lifting  

    Ability to travel on foot throughout PRR property as required to conduct safety inspections  

    Willing to physically relocate to PRR for the season in a rustic, isolated environment  

    Compensation & Benefits

             • Salary Range:  $65,000 - $75,000 based on experience, plus bonus

    Guest Services

    Front Desk Agent

    The Front Desk Agent will oversee all guest operations from general inquiries, retail sales, lodging, activities sales and anything else the guest may require. You are their point of contact and are there to answer any and all of their questions courteously and with a smile.

    Hourly.

    Responsibilities

    • Welcome guests upon entering the lodge.
    • Answer any questions they may have.
    • Direct them to where on the Ranch they need to be.
    • Must be completely knowledgeable on the Ranch and all of its amenities and current rates.
    • Comfortable using the front desk POS.
    • Basic computer skills and understanding.
    • Comfortable using credit cards and making cash transactions.
    • Provide excellent customer service at all times.
    • Be in constant contact with the housekeeping department and in turn aware of room statuses for guest check in.
    • Check in all lodging guests – provide them with their key, ensure their bill is finalized and they have all the necessary information to ensure they have an enjoyable stay.
    • Ensure that all check-ins and check-outs are handled smoothly without unnecessary delay or discomfort to any guest.
    • Collect guest feedback and relay to appropriate department manager.
    • Responds to telephone and in-person enquiries regarding reservations, ranch information and guest concerns.
    • Comfortable using suggestive selling techniques to increase overall sales.
    • Be results driven.
    • Assist with laundry if needed.
    • Resolve customer issues, complaints and problems in a quick, efficient manner ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction is maintained at all times.
    • Ensure retail space is kept clean, tidy and stocked at all times.

    The Housekeeper will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of the Ranch focusing primarily on guestrooms, restrooms, lodge and high traffic areas. Applicant must be a self-starter and able to work alone and work quickly and thoroughly.

    Responsibilities

    • Clean guest rooms as needed.
    • Change bed linens after each guest.
    • Vacuum, dust, sweep and mop rooms after each guest.
    • Remove trash from rooms after each guest.
    • Replenish room amenities after each guest.
    • Clean and replace used white goods after each guest.
    • Ensure each room is locked and secure upon completion of cleaning.
    • Design and perform a deep cleaning schedule.
    • Turn mattresses on a regular basis.
    • Clean all Ranch restrooms on a daily basis.
    • Ensure all bathroom amenities are fully stocked.
    • Alert management in ample time when amenities and cleaning supplies are running low.
    • Keep linen and cleaning closets neat and tidy at all times.
    • Responsible for upkeep of all cleaning equipment and supplies.
    • Assist with the laundering of all used linens.
    • Report missing, found or damaged articles to the front desk.
    • Maintain constant contact with the front desk and keep them up to date on room statues for incoming guests.
    • Clean and maintain public high traffic areas as needed.
    • Attend to any housekeeping concerns in a timely and courteous manner.

    Kitchen

    Line Cook

    The Line Cook will perform all tasks involved in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals. Must be knowledgeable in different cooking equipment and techniques and have a willingness to learn. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to listen and communicate effectively.

    Responsibilities

    • Set-up and break down line for daily service.
    • Prepare a variety of foods – meats, fish, poultry, vegetables and other food items in ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
    • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
    • Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
    • Maintains a clean and sanitary work station at all times.
    • Prepare items for grilling, frying or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
    • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes per managers specifications.
    • Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
    • Assist with receiving, storage, rotation of food products and controlling food costs and waste management.
    • Must be prepared to assist with cleaning, set-up, breakdown, dishwashing, etc. as needed.

    Entry level position

    The purpose of this position is to be responsible for taking an ongoing inventory of ingredients to ensure nothing is running low, cutting and preparing food items to recipe specifications. Ensuring all prep areas are cleaned and sanitized to ensure food safety. The position also requires that you assist with dishwashing needs as they arise.

    • Follow the prep list created by Line Cooks to plan daily duties.
    • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
    • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
    • Follow direction toward portion control, cooking standards and wastage.
    • Stock/restock items on line as needed.
    • Prepare simple dishes such as salads, salsas, sides, etc.
    • Assist in the preparation and cooking of food as required.
    • Communicate with kitchen staff throughout the shift regarding availability of product.
    • Clean and sanitize food preparation and production areas as required.
    • Clean, organize and maintain walk-in refrigerator, reach-in refrigerator, prep and dry storage areas.
    • Understand and follow all food safety regulations and temperature standards within the kitchen and ensure all food items are stored properly.
    • Rotate products according to ‘First In, First Out’ rule to maintain shelf life standards.
    • Assist with busing restaurant tables when time permits.
    • Perform all other duties as required.

    • Prepare the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparation tasks.
    • Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
    • Handle the table bookings, direct customers to their tables, presenting menus, suggesting dishes, assisting in drink selection, informing customers about food preparation details, communicating specific customer needs to the cooks.
    • Maintain proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
    • Prepare mixed drinks for service to your customers table.
    • Properly open and pour wine.
    • Obtain revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change.
    • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
    • Greet all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting.
    • Understand and can communicate products and services available at the restaurant.
    • Communicate comfortably and effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth running of food service.
    • Fill in for absent staff when needed.
