    What We Expect: Job duties include but are not limited to: 

    Afterglow Spa offers a diverse menu of massage services including Relaxation, Deep Tissue, Prenatal and Stone Massage. The Massage Therapist will be qualified to perform a variety of these services according to our Spa treatment menu. You will anticipate, customize, and deliver guests' needs. You must be knowledgeable and skilled in all treatment options and follow spa experience protocols. Afterglow expects you will offer the appropriate home care options to each guest and welcome them back.  

     

    Schedules: 

    We value work-life balance and try to offer flexible schedules, we expect a schedule that allows for 3-5 services per day, 4-5 days per week. Schedules do fluctuate based on seasonal demand. Afterglow will provide training in guest arrival and departure verbiage, spa signature touches and body treatment protocols. Occasional after-hours scheduling may be required for Spa Events. 

     

    Other Requirements: 

    Current Washington State Massage License.  If you are licensed in another state, you can transfer your license to the Washington State Department of Health.

You must be knowledgeable and skilled in all treatment options and follow spa experience protocols. Madrona’s menu features high quality local products, which are combined to create fresh appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees, served in a fun, relaxing, and social environment

    Requirements include:

    • Ability to maintain sales and profit, workplace safety, housekeeping standards, labor cost, food and beverage cost & quality, and crew image.
    • Efficient communication skills

    Description: Roche Harbor’s Madrona Bar & Grill is the summer dining hot spot on the island. With a large outdoor deck positioned over the water in the center of our active marina.  Our menu features local seafood, custom ground burgers, gourmet sandwiches and artistic organic salads & bowls with a large selection of tempting appetizers. We serve lunch and dinner for 11am to 10pm every day during the summer. Staffed with a five to six person line, this fast paced kitchen and menu are built for speed and will serve an average of 400 lunches and 500 dinners each day, with average ticket times of 8 to 10 minutes.

    Lead by Sous Chef – Cindy De Jesus and talented team

    Stewards and dish machine operators are an integral part of the restaurant and kitchen team responsible maintaining a quick flow of clean china, glassware, utensils and pots & pans from the pass through to service areas.
     

    Requirements Include:

    • Possess a Valid Washington State Food Workers Card (ServSafe® Certificate is helpful but does not qualify/replace a Washington State Food Worker Card)
    • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, stand on feet for a prolonged period, and easily bend at the waist
    • Execute directions efficiently and effectively
    • Maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced environment
    • Requires self motivation and ability to have fun while working

    Deft hands and technical knowledge are important parts of a handyman’s arsenal. You must be well-organized with strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina are valued greatly in this job.

    Responsibilities

    • Clean facilities by sweeping, dusting etc.
    • Perform maintenance and light repairs
    • Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks etc.)
    • Undertake light installation or carpenting (e.g. build cabinets)
    • Repair equipment or appliances
    • Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs
    • Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g. shoveling snow)

    Roche Harbor Utilities is seeking a mechanically minded Utility Worker for our water, wastewater, and propane systems.  Once trained, the operator will be responsible for all aspects of the wastewater treatment plant, collection system operation and maintenance, and water distribution operation and maintenance and propane distribution system. Trainees will work under the supervision of the water, wastewater, and propane lead operator.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Plan and carry out the work in the maintenance and operation of a wastewater treatment plant, water treatment plant, Propane Plant, and associated collection/distribution systems.
    • Obtain samples according to established procedures; perform standard laboratory tests; solve problems using standard chemical formulas and algebra.
    • Hose, wash, or clean all plant equipment pumps, motors, floors, and walls on a regular schedule to maintain established sanitary standards.
    • Maintain daily operating records, note equipment performance, chemicals and supplies used. Read and interpret meters, gauges, and graphs. take action as necessary in the event of malfunction or failure of equipment.
    • Operates all plant mechanical and electrical equipment; contract emergency repairs as necessary; inspect and maintain equipment in sewer pumping stations and manholes.
    • Inform plant operator and supervisor of any needed alterations, extensions and improvements to the plant, equipment, and processes.
    • Reports to plant operator and supervisor.
    • Performs related work as required.
    • Work for other departments as directed.

    Requirements of Work

    • Ability to work effectively alone or in a team.
    • Ability to meet training and testing requirements. 
      • Acquire Operator certification within 1 year.
      • Acquire Washington Flagger Card
    • Ability to determine from charts, graphs, and meters the cause of equipment or process failures and the necessary source of action to correct such cause.
    • Ability to react quickly and calmly in an emergency.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective public and work relations.
    • Dedication to accurately maintain records and prepare reports.
    • Skill in the mechanical repair of a variety of plant equipment.
    • Basic understanding of Outlook, Word and Excel.
    • Previous plumbing and electrical experience a plus.
    • Current Driver’s License a must.

    This position works a regular schedule; adjusted seasonally. Employees may be called in to work at irregular times in emergency situations, and employees must be available for call-out and standby duty as needed.  Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
