Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Private Executive Chef to join us and lead the culinary experience at Sawtooth Plantation. The ideal candidate is dedicated to fresh, field-to-table cuisine, loves working with seasonal ingredients, and thrives in a dynamic environment where no two days are alike. As the Executive Chef, you will play a central role in shaping our guests’ experience, creating bespoke menus that celebrate Southern flavors and showcase the bounty of our garden and the surrounding land.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute seasonal, field-to-table menus highlighting fresh, whole ingredients from our year-round garden.
• Prepare gourmet meals for guests, including breakfast few lunches and dinner
• Collaborate with John to create unique culinary experiences tailored to each group, such as outdoor cookouts, hunting-themed dinners, and private events.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, organization, and efficiency, ensuring all health and safety guidelines are met.
• Oversee inventory, ordering, and food costing to align with business goals and guest expectations.
• Engage with guests to explain menu selections, share culinary techniques, and enhance the overall Sawtooth experience.
• Work closely with the garden team to plan meals around fresh, seasonal produce.
• Support culinary education efforts for guests and visiting students, showcasing sustainable and ethical food practices.
Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Executive or Private Chef, preferably in high-end or luxury settings.
• Passion for farm-to-table and field-to-table cuisine, with a deep understanding of sourcing and preparing fresh, organic ingredients.
• Creative and adaptable, with a strong ability to curate unique menus that reflect Southern and modern culinary influences.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a warm, welcoming demeanor to engage with guests and elevate their dining experience.
• Experience working in high-pressure, event-driven environments.
• Knowledge of hunting culture and an appreciation for outdoor lifestyles is a plus.
