About Sitka Bazaar
Originally established in 1919, the Sitka Bazaar is a family-owned and operated retail business catering primarily to cruise ship guests and other travelers that visit Sitka during our busy summer season.
The work environment is typically fast-paced but changes depending on how many visitors are in town, some days we may have over 9,000 guests while other days will be less than 500. During peak season in June/July there are roughly 15 cruise ships every week while during the shoulder season (April/May) we can expect 3-6 cruise ships per week.
Foremost is a daily goal of providing a fun and professional shopping experience for the visitors along with maintaining a well-stocked and tidy store. Lifelong friendships are made over the course of the season as you live, work, and play with your coworkers.
