- Prep water bottles and snack cooler for the daily guest group and distribute to the Soaring guests during their water/snack break on the course.
- Prep Soaring guest lunch boxes with silverware, napkins, etc. and prepare general lunch supplies (soup tureen, serving utensils, beverages, etc.)
- Assist chefs with other prep items as needed.
- Clean & mop floors and maintain sanitary cleaning surfaces in guest areas.
- Wash dishes in a high production kitchen throughout the day as required.
- Put dishes away and keep the dish washing area and kitchen surfaces clean and sanitized.
- Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in staff dining areas.

Zipline Tour Guides / Sky Rangers

Do you seek adventure living in a pristine mountain and forest environment? If so, you may just have what it takes to work at Soaring Tree Top Adventures, the world’s largest zipline course! Soaring is seeking applicants for Zipline Tour Guides (Sky Rangers) for the summer season.
Sky Rangers are responsible for safely leading large groups of guests through the zipline course. The job is physically challenging and requires 100% attention to safety, so you must be very physically fit and detail-oriented. Sky Rangers are also responsible for daily course inspections, harness inspections, and course and equipment maintenance.
Sky Rangers guide guests through the treetop canopy by handling guest equipment, sending and receiving guests on the Soaring cables, and communicating clearly with other Rangers. Candidates should recognize that safety is our first priority. Sky Rangers must maintain a clean and professional appearance, actively engage guests in conversation throughout the day, work well in a team environment, and provide a safe and unforgettable experience high up in the Ponderosa forest.
Requirements include the ability/upper body strength to lift children on and off the Soaring cables, send and receive all guests to and from the platforms, frequently climb via ascenders and rappel down 40’ of rope, and feel comfortable working in such environments. Familiarity with climbing gear is a plus. Current First Aid/CPR certifications are required. Our personable, outgoing guides will need to be comfortable with public speaking, heights, standing for long hours, and be very physically fit.

Ecology Interpretive Guides / Eco Rangers

Soaring is seeking applicants for Ecology Interpretive Guides (Eco Rangers) for the summer season.
Eco Rangers actively engage and educate guests about the natural history of our remote property within an Old Growth Ponderosa pine forest in the San Juan Mountains as they participate in the largest and safest zipline course in the U.S. In between zipline spans, guests gather to meet with our Eco Rangers to hear more about the natural environment of this pristine canyon in Southwest Colorado. The ecology tour runs hand in hand with the zipline course, and the Eco Rangers work side by side with the Sky Rangers, our zipline guides.
We want guests to understand more about the unique Old Growth forest environment where Soaring resides, plus the importance of protecting the environment for future generations by illustrating the simple tasks we perform at Soaring to help promote a clean environment. You’ll spend time researching and obtaining program information to help actively engage guests throughout the zipline course. You will also be responsible for enforcing safety protocols among guests and keeping yourself safe on the course.
Guides must maintain a clean-cut, professional appearance and need to be comfortable with public speaking, engaging guests, working at heights, standing for long hours, and working in a physically demanding environment. A background in the fields of Natural Resources and Interpretation, Environmental Science, Outdoor Recreation, Biology, Botany, Ecology, or any other science is preferred. Familiarity with climbing gear is a plus. Current First Aid/CPR certification is required.
Office Assistant
Are you seeking a guest services position in a fun and adventurous location? Soaring Tree Top Adventures, an all day zipline adventure located in the mountains north of Durango, Colorado, is seeking friendly and outgoing individuals who are interested in working in a unique office environment for the full summer season (May – October). Soaring strives to provide a Five Star experience to every guest. There is no road access to our property; the staff live on site and the guests arrive by a historic tourist train to spend a day ziplining with us in the trees.
The office assistant position is great for outgoing people interested in hospitality/guest services, sales, marketing, and the outdoors. Duties include but are not limited to: answering guest questions via phone & email, taking & processing reservations, daily social media posts, blog writing, managing the gift shop, and interacting with guests. Web design and sales and marketing skills are a plus.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent phone & interpersonal communication skills, a Five Star hotel demeanor, the ability to multi-task, organizational management skills, and the initiative to be a self-starter. Staff Cooks / Kitchen Manager
Are you seeking a cooking position in a fun and adventurous location? Soaring Tree Top Adventures, an all-day zipline adventure located in the mountains north of Durango, Colorado, is seeking a staff cook to prepare meals for staff and guests for the full summer season (May—October). Soaring strives to provide a Five Star experience to every guest. There is no road access to our property; the staff live on site and the guests arrive by a historic tourist train to spend a day ziplining with us in the trees.
Soaring is seeking to hire a staff cook that can prepare entire meals from set menus. Cooking experience is required--you will need the skills to independently prepare and serve staff meals. We prepare three meals a day for our staff (15-20 people), and shifts rotate from AM (breakfast/lunch) to PM (lunch/dinner). Cooks must be able to follow set recipes and adhere to meal cycles. Staff cooks are also responsible for preparing, executing, and serving guest lunches from a set menu of homemade soup, salad, sandwich, and dessert options for our zipline guests. Soaring can accommodate up to 40 guests per day.

Utility Team/Laundry Attendant

Soaring strives to provide a Five Star experience to every guest. There is no road access to our property; the staff live on site and the guests arrive by a historic tourist train to spend a day ziplining with us in the trees.
The Utility position is an integral function at Soaring. This job is made up of several cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the day that allow operations to run smoothly for our staff and guests. The key to this job is good time-management skills.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Excellent organizational skills, a neat clean-cut appearance, and professional work ethic are required. You will be interfacing with guests. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. Knowledge of how to drive a tractor and general maintenance skills are a plus.
