Join Us for an Unforgettable Summer in Alaska’s Wilderness
Position: Lodge Associate (Seasonal)
Dates: Mid-May to Late September
Experience the adventure of a lifetime living, working, and playing in the heart of North America’s largest national park! Located among the wild, undeveloped Wrangell and Mentasta mountains, by two awesome lakes, our off-grid outfit offers awe-inspiring vistas and endless opportunities for outdoor recreation, from fishing and canoeing, to hiking, birding, and biking. Meet adventure travelers from around the globe while immersing yourself in Alaska’s unparalleled summer beauty and learning how to live off-grid.
About Us
We’re a small, Alaskan family-run operation that values quality of life, authentic experiences, and unbeatable wilderness hospitality. Our unique location inside Wrangell-St. Elias National Park on a forgotten mining road offers a tranquil, fly-out lodge feel, without the noisy, bumpy, weather-dependent air taxi. We are just 2 hours drive (100 miles) from Tok or Glennallen, and 5 hours drive from Fairbanks or Anchorage. Our serene, off-the-beaten-path location provides a wild, unspoiled experience far from the hustle and bustle of more developed areas. Our guests and staff come from around the world to enjoy the stunning scenery, numerous outdoor recreation opportunities, abundant wildlife, solitude, and rich history. While there are no nightclubs or tour bus towns here, what you'll find is an unparalleled national park experience, much like it was 100 years ago (but with modern amenities).
About the Role
We are building an energetic, self-motivated Lodge Associate and Cook team for the upcoming tourist season. You’ll play an essential role in creating unforgettable guest experiences, from warm welcomes to impeccable service. And you'll have the opportunity to learn how an off-grid operation works.
Responsibilities:
Housekeeping for five guest cabins and two yurts, including tending flowers and gardens.
Grounds-keeping to maintain the property's tidy appearance.
Assisting with kitchen tasks to ensure high-quality meals are prepared and served with care.
Collaborating with the team while demonstrating the ability to work independently.
Apply if you are interested in a culinary position because we are also looking for cook/prep staff.
Work Schedule:
Full-time seasonal role with 4–5 workdays per week.
Daily shifts range from 6–10 active hours, ensuring scheduled time off for relaxation and exploration.
Compensation:
$120–$176 per day (dependent on experience and performance) plus tips.
Log cabin housing with meal supplies and WIFI valued at $1000/month included. RV site option available with limited electricity and WIFI ($900/month value), propane heat recommended.
End-of-season bonus: $50/week for each week of work upon completion of season.
Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone 21+ years old who is:
Interested in a remote Alaskan work experience;
Energetic, self-starting, and physically fit;
Mature, responsible, and adaptable to various tasks in a remote, wilderness setting on a regular basis; and
Excited to be part of a team dedicated to making every guest’s stay unforgettable.
Why Join Us?
Live in one of the world’s most beautiful and serene places.
Enjoy the untouched wildness of the park while still remaining road-accessible.
Be part of a close-knit lodge family that values teamwork, adventure, and creating meaningful connections.
Learn new skills, from solar power generation and high-latitude gardening, to maintenance, carpentry, and naturalist skills.
We normally try and take a trip with our staff depending on interest, fishing, rafting, hiking, etc.
Requirements:
Availability for the full season (May 22 – September 25; start date may be adjusted to June 1).
Must be able to lift 40 lbs from floor to counter height a few times daily as well as access various parts of the 6-acre property on foot to greet guests, clean units, and tend the greenhouse and gardens.
Strong references and ability to pass a background check.
This is truly a rare opportunity to combine meaningful work with the adventure of living in one of Alaska’s most breathtaking landscapes. If you’re ready to connect with the best of Alaska's summers and be part of a highly-valued team, we’d love to hear from you!
